Hi All, I have just deleted everything again and reinstalled providence-develop using the Dublin core configuration so apart from my setup.php there is nothing of my old installations. If I drag the my_categories mapping onto the Import Data page it uploads but as soon as I click on the icon that takes you to the page where you select the file yo want to import I get the long message as previously posted. I then tried using caUtils and get the screen below which says data was imported but nothing appears in my New Objects drop down and I cannot seem to find anything in the database.

What is the "long" message you're seeing? (I haven't being reading your previous messages)
And please send me your mapping and data? you can send it to seth@collectiveaccess.org

@eriwm Stefan just sent me your mapping + data so no need to send yourself

@eriwm I just ran your mapping + data in current "develop" code and had no problems
My first guess is that your install is broken is some way that is preventing loading of mappings; then the import uses the incorrectly loaded mapping and throws the error you just posted that screen shot of
When I ran it on a fresh DublinCore system I got the full object types list from your spreadsheet as one would expect

I have just done another fresh install with a new setup.php and a new database name. I can drag the mapping data onto the import screen but now when i click on the icon it takes me to the next page without the error message but selecting the file to import by browsing to my folder on my desktop, selecting the correct fileformat and then clicking on execute results in no activity. . Running caUtils gives the same result as in the screenshot already sent i.e data imported but nothing shows up in the New Object list. This is the message I sent before.

And does caUtils output that "array_slice" error message ?

Hi again Stefan, Ok I have fixed my profile and run the installer - got new password and logged on. Went to Import Data and dragged a mapping xlsx (worked in 1.6) which uploaded ok Clicked on the icon which takes you to the page where you select the file you want to import, when this page opens i get the following message at the top of the screen. [1605] File type is not supported (File->divineFile() [/var/www/providence-develop/app/lib/core/BaseModel.php:5675] [/var/www/providence-develop/app/lib/core/BaseModel.php:2457] [/var/www/providence-develop/app/lib/core/BaseModelWithAttributes.php:470] [/var/www/providence-develop/app/lib/ca/BundlableLabelableBaseModelWithAttributes.php:244] [/var/www/providence-develop/app/models/ca_data_importers.php:1013] [/var/www/providence-develop/app/controllers/batch/MetadataImportController.php:121] [/var/www/providence-develop/app/lib/core/Controller/RequestDispatcher.php:273] [/var/www/providence-develop/app/lib/core/Controller/AppController.php:112] [/var/www/providence-develop/index.php:114]. Clicking on Execute data import does nothing. This is the same behaviour I reported earlier. Help please.

Why don't you try pulling down the latest develop code and try all of this again?
I can confirm that your mapping and data import just fine on a fresh DublinCore install using the current develop branch code

OK will do - sorry for the run around.

Ok downloaded latest version and did an install- got screen with new password and logged on but all I get is a screen with the c/a logo in the top left hand corner and a small entry box underneath it - no menu - no nothing. I understand that this is a development version and thins probably change by the hour - any suggestions.

It's a development version that works... I'm using it now. So the question is why isn't your install working
there are no error messages?

May 17 2016 14:03
Are you sure you're installing it clean? It seems to me likely that you're not getting a clean install
are you pulling it with Git? Or downloading a ZIP?
ericwm
@eriwm
May 17 2016 14:03
downloadin a zip
CollectiveAccess
@collectiveaccess
May 17 2016 14:03
try pulling with git
ericwm
@eriwm
May 17 2016 14:04
not done that before - how do I do it
CollectiveAccess
@collectiveaccess
May 17 2016 14:05
then
this will pull the code down to a directory called "providence"
if you want something else do
then cd into the directory, whatever you've called it
and do
git checkout develop

Hi all -- I moved my collection to a new server.. same domain name. The one thing is that I am seeing the images in collective access editor, but not in pawtucket. I tried a few symbolic links, which I did not need before..
CollectiveAccess
@collectiveaccess
May 17 2016 20:44

ln -s /home/artsyakima/public_html/collection/collectiveaccess/ /home/artsyakima/public_html/collection/collectiveaccess/pawtucket/media

ln -s /home/artsyakima/public_html/collection/ /home/artsyakima/public_html/collection/collectiveaccess/pawtucket/media

CollectiveAccess
@collectiveaccess
May 17 2016 21:04
try deleting the contents of app/tmp in Pawtucket
or maybe just open up app.conf and add a return at the end and save it
I mean media_volumes.conf
that'll trigger a reload of the file
Larson Gallery Guild
@LarsonGalleryG_twitter
May 17 2016 21:06
ok
i tried the return
boy there is a lot of stuff in the tmp folder
Larson Gallery Guild
@LarsonGalleryG_twitter
May 17 2016 21:12
I am trying to get that stuff deleted. I put in the return, but didn't seem to work
I know it has to be something simple
do you think I have to put a ../ or something like that to tell it to back out of the folder?
CollectiveAccess
@collectiveaccess
May 17 2016 21:40
you can't do that in a url
