@collectiveaccess thanks for answering both questions.

another question please. So I previously created some meta elements and have assigned them to ca-objects. I then imported data into these new elements. On the same import, data was also going to ca-storage- locations (using storageLocationHeirarchyBuilder) and ca-loans (via loanSplitter).

But now that I know more of CA, this is not what I wanted. I want to reimport the same data/spreadsheet but going to ca-movements instead of ca-objects. There is still data going to ca-storage-locations and ca-loans.

--I am concern on how to delete previously imported data.-- How can I clean/reset the ca-storage-locations/ca-loans "tables"? How about the meta elements that I created myself? How do I reset this? My best guess is to just delete it and recreate again.

thank you so much

@mrjayviper It's either export profile, reinstall CA with new profile, re-import all the data or find some way to delete all the objects / relationships. Depending on your sql fu, you can do something as simple as

# Note this will mark all of your objects as deleted
UPDATE ca_objects SET deleted = 1 WHERE deleted = 0;
# Note this will delete the join to the storage locations
DELETE from ca_objects_x_storage_locations;

followed by

caUtils rebuild-search-index

Alternatively you can use the web services to do deletes given a list of object ids. This will keep the search index up to date.

However both of these methods will leave you with orphan values in ca_attribtute_values and ca_attributes as a minimum, and also probably in the various ca_change_log tables.

@mrjayviper If you do that, then ensure you take a backup of your database beforehand.

@kehh thanks for that. My SQL is above average since I'm a DB developer by trade. :) For loans, is it as simple as deleting records in ca-loans-x-objects? thanks again

@mrjayviper It depends if you want to keep the actual loan records. If not then you'll have to UPDATE ca_loans SET deleted = 1; as well.

the question is too long to ask here so I decided to create a forum post: http://www.collectiveaccess.org/support/forum/index.php?p=/discussion/295236/question-issues-on-data-import

hope it's clear. thanks again!

Hi there, I'm not sure if this is a bug, but I can't access Lists & Vocabularies on Providence, even though my access roles allow it. This has happened in the past, and our IT team don't know how it's been fixed previously. Cache has been cleared and even with full adminstrator access I can't seem to see them. Has anyone experienced this issue? alt

@jessica-s did you change anything in your hierarchy browser display configuration in app.conf?
Looks like the display might be broken

I could swear I've seen this before though. Just can't remeber when or why that happened ... :-)

Hi @jessica-s just a question, did you try a search from the top screen ? when you have an answer under the folding vocabulary tree, you can click on the extreme right icon to show the term in its context. I think I have seen your issue once in a while.
@collectiveaccess :point_up: 25 mai 2016 16:01 I did find the struck finally :-) I had a lib subfolder blocked in a former git state, weird for a production server as normally git is only meant to fetch content from master-fix. At least, everything is ok back now. Many thanks.
