Hi I resolved my problem with uploading .doc media by using the script found here https://gist.github.com/vjt/4194760#file-libreoffice-sh-L1 which starts the libreoffice headless service on boot seems to work ok up to now. Trying to view a pdf still results in the thumbnail contents being shown but no main page only the rotating block. Trying to view the uploaded .doc results in a error message in the viewer that says 'invalid identifier' any pointers would be welcome Thanks Eric

Hi there
I use the api to create some objects.
One of the calls just returns 'ok' without an object id or without an error.
Any idea what is going wrong?

@eriwm you shouldn't have to start any additional services or servers. Are you on the latest develop code? There have been a few more viewer related fixes I believe. It's also possible *.doc is still broken -- no idea
@PMassoels Not without any further details, no. Could be a number of things

What details do you need? :)
At least their should be an error message of some kind. I just get a respons 'ok' but nothing happened

No errors in the respons, no errors in the apache log , none in the application log
Just an ok, where documentation tells me i should expect an object_id

Thanks Stefan I will check re the latest development version and also revert to the standard libreoffice installation - did not think that my sart on boot solution was really the right way to go.

ok thanks
is there a recommended way to strip down the default assets, without breaking anything?
i ask, because our designer created a custom instance of boostrap, and there are some conflicts with the default one that CA provides

You can edit the assets.conf file in the theme to control what gets loaded and when
Chris
@quantegy
Jun 16 2016 18:44
yes i've done that
but it doesn't get rid of the default assets

You can also modify the base on in app/conf/assets.conf
But be careful about what you remove. Some of the libraries loaded are for media rendering, etc
