yep
it has been some tough days keeping up with some projects that were quite harsh to build up
just coming here to show you this thing :
it's been made by a clever librarian in France, Sylvain Machefert
who managed to go back from TPC to full res image

I guess that's similar to people scraping google maps for imagery.

But google has terms of service which say you can't, so if you then go start selling the imagery you can get in trouble.

problem is with this single project : https://musee.sacem.fr that I've been on for some times now, which is official since last tuesday.
same thing here : the SACEM is the national organism working on music copyrights. they do have a heavy legal department.
I've blocked it for now. I was just saying hello here, just to pass that this formula :
"Note: WATERMARKing is not applied to tilepic version of the images, since this is a format not easy to be 'stolen' in itself." (CA wiki)
it is not much more the case
I do prefer when we publish full RES images without watermarks and on, but this initiative will push some of the museums here to add more watermarks :-(
shame
if needed, you can block direct access to tpc images from apache, and allow only tilepic.php access to it (.htaccess inside /media/collectiveaccess/tilepics for example)

That sounds great. Some good looking projects you've got under your belt anyway.

thanks, musee.sacem.fr was a tough work, but really interesting and challenging. I've loved digging inside som belgium private archives too. Difficulty is here dealing with museum regulations and national requirements (with some 70s way of exporting data).
Best to all of you, bye
