    or I guess since it's a location based metadata field-it needs a lookup field
    but I'm not sure how to link it to an external look up table like GeoNames or another place name controlled vocab
    CollectiveAccess
    @collectiveaccess
    You'd have to define the entries in it
    If you want to use Geonames is its place you'll have to change the profile to relabel it as "coverage"

    oh ok

    Hi to All :)

    Sorry for the disturb, I am writing a feasibility study about the Collections Management System (CMS), to apply to our Regional System of Museum (I am from Sardinia).

    I want to ask in this chat if it is possible to manage the Tickets for access the museum, with CollectiveAccess.
    I know that with CollectionSpace is possible.
    In this first phase required me to understand which is the more suitable solution for our needs.

    Thanks in advance to All.

    Hi! Iā€™m trying to install Pawtucket 2. Did that successfully on a test installation, but was using the masterbranch there. Worked fine. Now I wanted to install the development branch. I did everything according to the installation instructions, but I get this error:
    According to the Wiki, there should be a link to upgrade the database there, and, if not, I should ā€žmake sure that the CA_ALLOW_AUTOMATIC_UPDATE_OF_DATABASE option in setup.php is set to trueā€œ - only there is no such option nowhere.

    Thanks for your help!

    @collectiveaccess
    @michelescarlato By "manage tickets" do you mean sell and print tickets for visitors?
    @michelescarlato you could kind of do that in CA if you really really wanted to, but a collection management system is really the wrong place to do ticketing from
    @michelescarlato Collectionspace does not do ticketing either
    @kbecker87 The develop branch of Pawtucket requires the develop branch of providence
    @kbecker87 If you update your back-end to develop and then try to login you'll get an error screen with a link to do the required database update
    @kbecker87 The database changes are non-destructive and compatible with the current release (master), so you'll be able to switch back without a problem

    @michelescarlato
    @collectiveaccess ok. So I misunderstood. Which is the right term that refear to management systems that can manage collections and museum ticket for visitors?
    CollectiveAccess
    @collectiveaccess
    I am not aware of a solution that merges collections management with ticketing
    They're two separate things in my experience
    michelescarlato
    @michelescarlato
    mmm ok. And do you think that is possible to merge these things? Which solution of ticketing you can suggest as open source solution ?
    CollectiveAccess
    @collectiveaccess
    I don't see why you'd want to merge them. Any more than you'd want to merge a dog and a fish
    michelescarlato
    @michelescarlato
    shark! :)

    For ticketing see www.tessituranetwork.com

    by the way, "My smart Boss" want a ticketing system ...
    thanks

    @collectiveaccess
    You mileage may vary with Tessitura
    but it's something
    and it was developed by non-profits, even if it's not open source

    Greetings all. I am trying to find the section in C/A that would allow me to add a term to the different statuses of storage locations. I looked in Manage->Lists & Vocabularies, but I do not see it there. I simply want to add a status called "To Be Printed." I created a basic label layout for Avery 5160 to print out the location code and adding that option would be helpful to remember which labels need to be printed out.
    Also, would anyone else find this layout useful for their institution/project?
    CollectiveAccess
    @collectiveaccess
    The statuses are stated across all types of records
    The list is called "object workflow statuses" (list code is workflow_statuses)

    hello all
    is there any option to increase the results that appear under autocomplete fields?

    Hi again, With reference to my question of the 28th Sept I have solved the problem of getting my Hierarchy Browser slider bars to default to the top of the list when adding a new object. I added AA to the top of each list and used AA1 etc for the identifier. The item is disabled but included in the list sort. Not very elegant but works ok.
    CollectiveAccess
    @collectiveaccess
    @tsitsibau_twitter Increase in what sense? More of them? Or a broader search to find things?
    tsitsibau
    @tsitsibau_twitter
    more results (thanks)

    @collectiveaccess
    The limit is hardcoded to 100
    You'd have to change the code in app/lib/ca/BaseLookupController.php to change the default
    We could expose it as a configuration setting too (one of these days)

    So I have this not very beefy server that I can't get Providence installed on, the installation procedure hangs at "processing metadata elements", whatever profile I choose at install
    A slightly beefier server (but same version of ubuntu server, 16.04.1) installs without problem.
    I've previously tried to increase timeouts, enable logging of PHP errors, but nothing happens. At some point, while "page2" is still loading, the load on the server drops to nothing and aftr a few minutes of that firefox will show "The connection was reset"
    CollectiveAccess
    @collectiveaccess
    So it's probably throwing an error but you can't see the message
    Did you try setting display_errors to "on" in php.ini?
    the other possibility is that the server is segfaulting
    Andreas Sikkema
    @ramdyne
    I've tried that before
    CollectiveAccess
    @collectiveaccess
    are you running apache?
    Andreas Sikkema
    @ramdyne
    Yes, apache is running
    CollectiveAccess
    @collectiveaccess
    Take a look in the Apache error_log and see if there's a segfault logged?
    Andreas Sikkema
    @ramdyne
    No, error_log is clean (apart from the restarts when I upgraded everything)
