    It depends which installation profile (or front-end theme) you choose. There are several archival set ups that include configurations of this feature.
    The EAD XML mapping isn't included in the installation profile, but there are mappings available on the support forum that can be paired or tailored to your custom system

    Interesting. I will have limited IT assistance on this project. Is mapping fairly straightforward?
    Julia
    @juliaweist
    It's moderate in terms of complexity. It's fully documented here: http://docs.collectiveaccess.org/wiki/Data_Exporter but as I said you'd likely tweak a mapping that is available on the forum rather than write one from scratch.

    Great, thanks for the help!

    @juliaweist Thanks for the feedback, this is what I originally did so I deleted all related entities and re configured as per your latest advice. Added Brown as donor, Black as accessioner, White as digitiser and Green documenter but when I go to my summary display in the related entities display I get Brown as bequeather, Black as bequeather, White as bequeather and Green as bequeather. Display format in my Summary Display for related entities is <unit relativeTo="ca_objects_x_entities">
    ^ca_entities.preferred_labels (^relationship_typename)</unit>. I must be doing something wrong but don't know what!!

    @eriwm
    @juliaweist I have found the right log to look at and it shows Object Related Entities being added but none being deleted this maybe the cause of the problem!
    Julia
    @juliaweist
    No need to include a unit in your display template for what you want to output. You can simply use: ^ca_entities.preferred_labels (^relationship_typename)

    @juliaweist Hi again Julia, Thank you for your reply. I changed the Display Format and now Summary Screen shows correct relationships but I still cannot seem to get rid of the brackets from the deleted entity relationship types - any suggestions. Thanks also for your patience.

    I have a quick question. What does the default (in the VRACore based profile) "Related Objects" field look up? It does not seem to be working. Is it looking up the preferred label of Object title, or some other field of object records? Thanks!
    CollectiveAccess
    @collectiveaccess
    It should be looking on the full text of the object; but it ultimately depends upon how you have object searches configured

    @eriwm do those blank entities appear on the cataloging interface as well, or just the Summary display? If just on the summary display please include a screenshot of the (i) settings for that. Also, are you sure this isn't a caching issue?

    @juliaweist Blank entities do not appear in the cataloging interface. I am using Firefox and have preformed clear cache but brackets still visible. Screen shot of (i) settings for Related Entities in Summary Display screen attached.

    In Providence, can the display template feature be used to place some fields side by side in two columns while the rest remain in a single column?

    Ignore my question--solved it
    Julia
    @juliaweist
    @eriwm The display looks fine and if it's not a caching issue it's hard to say what's causing the behavior without access to the server.

    @eriwm
    @juliaweist I am developing a model for our local museum on a home server so its not accessible at the moment. I will try a few things this weekend to see if I can resolve the issue. Thanks for your time - have a good weekend.

    @eriwm
    @juliaweist Deleting ^ca_entities.preferred_labels (^relationship_typename) from the Display Format box fixes the problem of the unwanted brackets.

    @juliaweist
    Hi @eriwm glad it's resolved.

    Hi again,
    i have one more question: Our place-editor is working well, but we got the following notification, when we try to add one place with the quick-add-menu out of the object-editor (please see screenshot). As far as we know and understand we have no subtypes in type-restriction included here in this case. Thanks a lot for any help.

    We have now php 5.5 and CA 1.7 (revision-scheme 1.4.1)

    Hi! I’m building a display template for Pawtucket, its working fine. One thing I cant wrap my head around is how to use the ifdef code with a typerestriction. We have different types of occurrences and I’d like pawtucket to only display those which are related with a given object. Using <unit relativeTo="ca_occurrences" restrictToTypes="occurrence_type"> works, but this still shows the heading even when no related occurrence is displayed. The <idef> tag does not take any of the options I tried to specify my occurrence type.

    How do you tell <idef> to show only when a specific occurrence type is connected with the object?

    This is a sample code:

    {{{<ifdef code="ca_occurrences" restrictToTypes="DOESNOTWORK"><H5>Normincipit Text</H5><unit relativeTo="ca_occurrences" restrictToTypes="normincipit_text" delimiter="<br/>"><l>^ca_occurrences.preferred_labels.</l></unit></ifdef>}}}

    CollectiveAccess
    @collectiveaccess
    <ifdef> doesn't support restrictToTypes
    For relationships use <ifcount>
    to test for presence of values
    Eg. <ifcount code="ca_occurrences" min="1">...</ifcount>
    Karl Becker
    @karbecker
    Thanks! This works fine if you put the appropriate heading inside the <unit> tag: It will only show the heading and occurrence if there is one defined.

    @karbecker
    Hi! I’ve got one more comprehension question using <if> rules for display templates. I want a unit to show only if the according list element is set to yes. Is this the correct way to tackle it? Doesnt work for me right now, perhaps I am missing something:
    {{{<unit relativeTo="ca_objects" delimiter="<br/"><if rule=\"^ca_objects.containername.listelement =~ /listelement_yes/\">^ca_objects.containername.listelement</if></unit>}}}

    Hi, I am trying to create an object with a relationship to 'ca_collections' by using rest api 'put' call. But i get the error 'Cannot add or update a child row: a foreign key constraint fails (test_ca_crkc.ca_objects_x_collections, CONSTRAINT fk_ca_objects_x_collections_collection_id FOREIGN KEY (collection_id) REFERENCES ca_collections (collection_id)) [250]'

    If i remove the relationship information from the request body, i am able to create object. Any help to solve this problem will be appreciated.

    Request body of the call is:
    Array
    (
    [intrinsic_fields] => Array
    (
    [idno] => CRKC.0038.000237
    [type_id] => 21
    )
    [related] => Array
    (
    [ca_collections] => Array
    (
    [collection_id] => 38
    [item_type_id] => 102
    )
    )
    )

    @kbecker87 Your quotes on that template appear to be messed up
    @naeemmuhammad Does a collection with id 38 exist in your db?
    Karl Becker
    @karbecker
    @collectiveaccess I corrected the wrong quote at the <br> tag - the other quotes are exactly as they are in the example given here. It still doesn’t work
    naeemmuhammad
    @naeemmuhammad
    Yes the collection exists. In-fact i find collection, get its id before using it in object creation api call.

    Hello, everyone

    I am trying to help organize two video game collection together, they have totally same format and columns that they using. And I created mapping for export first from one system and trying to import to another database and they have totally same format. I have attached sample dataset, and mapping that I created.
    The metadata that I am using is in the export mapping. And other things other than video game element is extra stuff that system already generated, but we did not use it. So I have not included other things expect videogame elements.

    The version that I am using is 1.6 providence.

    001.JPG
    But the error code is found no data. anyone could look at the mapping for me please? thank you so much.

    Those screen shots are from a version much older than 1.6?
    Lucy Saikhan
    @lucybbs
    @collectiveaccess Hi, the screen shots are from website version of collective access. the actual version was installed in a school service. The technician told me it was 1.6 version. Is is very old version??
    CollectiveAccess
    @collectiveaccess
    Yes, it's probably <= 1.3
    Lucy Saikhan
    @lucybbs
    ohh, so this is why I could not export data??
    CollectiveAccess
    @collectiveaccess
    The exporter doesn't exist in older versions, including quite possibly the one you're running
    Hello everybody.
    I have some troubles with an import of places. I tried to build up an hierarchy, with the help of the wiki. I guess, that I skipped something by creating a mapping and didn’t get the interaction the Refineries right. Please give me a hint what is wrong with my mapping.
