    Trying out the basic search, I found that I can easily search for descriptions being blank. I understand from the above that I can't do that for relationships. Ok. But! Let's see here.

    Then I can filter by collection
    So, would it be possible to add a filter for "No collection"?
    CollectiveAccess
    @collectiveaccess
    Yes that's possible
    You'd have to configure a "has" browse facet
    and set it to the relevant table
    Jonas Rosland
    @jonasrosland
    That's a bit over my head at the moment. This seems like it would be a useful feature though? Searching for non-collection items to make sure they're in a collection?
    Jonas Rosland
    @jonasrosland
    I can open an issue if that would help?
    CollectiveAccess
    @collectiveaccess
    There are lots of useful features people want. If you need it you could create an issue for it.

    @jonasrosland: by adding the browse facet like was mentioned you can do this, It's a configuration file change. I sent you a DM (not sure if you got it).

    Hello. I have this warning at the end of every page from my installation:

    Warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to tls://collective-access.delisle.duckdns.org:25443:443 (Unknown error) in /var/www/html/ca/app/lib/Controller/Request/RequestHTTP.php on line 660

    You can see that my installation uses tcp port 25443. RequestHTTP.php gets the server name from CA_SITE_HOSTNAME which is defined in
    app/helpers/post-setup.php: define("CA_SITE_HOSTNAME", isset($_SERVER['HTTP_HOST']) ? $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] : '');

    $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] contains the port in my case. It then adds $vn_port with a value of 443.

    $_SERVER['SERVER_NAME'] and $_SERVER['SERVER_PORT'] might be a better choice to find the name and port.

    Please ignore my post dated 21 Sept re Really stumped on this one - importing hierarchical list as after much gnashing of teeth and renting of clothes I finally figured it out myself.

    Well done on figuring it out. :)
    CollectiveAccess
    @collectiveaccess
    @pstimmons Because of the way PHP works (no threading), in order to perform search indexing in a separate process we have to initiate a request by hitting a URL on the server. We're not accounting for the port being stuck onto the hostname here, as you've observed. I've just pushed a change to master and develop branches to improve this.

    It'll be in the next releases, or you can pull it from git now if you wish

    Hello, I can't seem to find instructions to install pawtucket2 in the manual (which seems to have many blank pages?)

    Hi @CariTheKitty . The manual linked from the homepage is for the soon to be released version 1.8 . The documentation for this is still a work in progress. Have a look at https://docs.collectiveaccess.org/wiki/Main_Page for any of missing information

    Thanks, what's the rough ETA on 1.18?

    Thanks for the help! (was making dinner) My planned usage is to run a first & third party archive for a game series (with the backing of the former game company), has anyone done a purely digital archive with this software?
    Infra|Red
    @InfraRed:matrix.org
    [m]
    I'm not sure. People use it to store born digital objects, just not sure if anyone else does purely that.

    Hi, does anyone who describes artworks have already used a treatment model that creates a hierarchical-relationship between work and part of the work (components)? This seems to bring a complexity of treatment, has anyone ever tried something like that?
    Jonas Rosland
    @jonasrosland
    @CariTheKitty I’m the ED of https://hitsave.org, I would love to see what you do with your setup for game preservation!
    CollectiveAccess
    @collectiveaccess
    @bib_mais_twitter Yes. It's used often in art collections.
    1 reply
    @CariTheKitty Yes, there are archives with just born-digital material. The metadata changes a bit, but otherwise it's the same as any other sort of archive.
    There are standards for digital preservation you'll likely want to follow though

    Hello there,
    I'm new to Collective Access and wanted to know a one thing. Reaching out for help here because I personally found the documentation a bit confusing to start out with. Maybe this has been asked before but it would be great if anyone could help me with it again.

    Is it possible to upload images in the CA using links from other websites? We actually intend to aggregate open access images from various other collections. So is it possible to do that using like an Excel sheet or a CSV? Uploading individual images would be a quite cumbersome for us with the volume we intend to work with. Appreciate any inputs in this regard.

    CollectiveAccess
    @collectiveaccess
    Yes you can add urls providing the allow_fetching_of_media_from_remote_urls option is app.conf is set
    These can be directly entered into the user interface or be imported as part of the metadata import
    Arunesh Varade
    @FairlyNewHere
    Oh, that sounds great! Before I elaborate on that point, I had another question. While deploying the final website - what is a good way to go about that. Do it on our own server or publish it on something like GitHub pages?

    @quiltedstars
    Hey all, in app.conf, is there a specific format to separate the widget codes for the Dashboard? I have columns = { 1 = [clock count randomObject], for example, but none of the widgets come out. Just thought to ask here before trying something else and having to reload my system again without knowing whether it'll work

    @quiltedstars
    jk, figured it out, sorry all!

    Hello, I want to set up a hierarchy for object lots, but have found that they seem to be the one of the few primary tables that doesn't have hierarchy navigation bundle. Is there any reason for this? And is there a way around it? Thanks.

    Hi there! I noticed that Pawtucket comes with Bootstrap 3 included.
    is there a way to update it to Bootstrap 5?
    Infra|Red
    @InfraRed:matrix.org
    [m]
    @joaquinodz: It's not as simple as just updating it. There are a lot of differences between 3 and 5 and lots of code would need to be rewritten to accommodate that.
