okay
is there a way to tell composer to install a specific package in a specific folder?
I want to install laravelframework in /framework
and all it’s required vendor files in
/framework/vendor
I see in composer that there are a few attributes
  1. extra
  1. variables ($name, $vendor, $type)
but haven’t found good examples on how to use these resources to achieve what I want.

here’s the solution
you can use the config tag
"config": {
    "preferred-install": "dist",
        "vendor-dir": "libraries"
}
this will tell composer to change the default vendor directory name ‘vendor’ to ‘libraries'
