It is my personal opinion that it is necessary to have a "single source of truth" regarding organizations involved in consul. This makes maintaining a strong community easier.
Overall I dare to say the source code for the website will become lighter and easier to understand.
I am missing some logos for organizations, and also some links to their implementations of consul. Who can I get in touch with to retrieve this information?

@decabeza

Hi @milovanderlinden,

You can find all the consulproject.org content on https://github.com/consul/website repo.

For now we use a static website, but our idea is migrate to a simple Rails app with admin panel to make easier to maintaining, now all updates are manually.

Hello @decabeza I am using that repo. I forked it to https://github.com/codefornl/consul-website, but there are small faults in the data.
I would advice against hosting a small rails app.

hi everybody. I have a situation sending confirmation email, anyone can help? I guess is something about configuration. thanks

@decabeza regarding the website, please review this PR consul/website#10

Hello everyone! I'm giving support to a consul installation and we have doubts about the verification process. After introducing the code received by SMS there's a final verification step where it asks you to get verified in person in an office or request a postal letter. Where do the admins see the users that have requested a letter - so they can be sent? Where does a user introduce the code received in the letter? Regarding the in-person verification process: where can an admin verify a user? I've reviewed the code and the documentation but can't find info about this.

Hello @ch4plin_twitter,

What is the situation sending confirmation emails? :relieved:

Have you followed the email configuration instructions?
https://github.com/consul/installer#email-configuration

I'm so sorry @andreslucena, as far as we know Veracruz is using both applications.

Hello @amiedes!

  1. It used to be an offline process. The letter verification feature has very little conversion, so it's going to be removed, maybe left as optional. We know the letter path is still showing, thanks for the reminder :relieved: We'll send a PR soon to fix that.

  2. In the Verification::LetterController but the links to this controller have been removed, as a pre-step to removing this feature.

  3. Here: /management/document_verifications

Thanks for the help @voodoorai2000!

One last question: is there any difference regarding voting between being verified at level 2 or 3?

I'm seeing in models/abilities/common.rb that for the vote actions is enough with level 2 verification, but in the UI it says "❌ Participar en las votaciones finales" until the admin verifies you manually.

@ch4plin_twitter
@voodoorai2000 was a configuration issue, the delivery method was declared twice, first with the :stmp value, then with :letter_opener, so the application was taking the second one. Just delete the 'letter_opener' line and the emails arrivied. Thanks for asking.

My pleasure @amiedes :relaxed:
No difference, a user that is level 2 can do all actions that a level 3 can do. Sorry about that, we are working on improving that misleading message :pray:
Glad to hear @ch4plin_twitter :thumbsup:

hey, is docker manual up to date?
during docker-compose run app rake db:create/migrate/anything I get error:
    PG::ConnectionBad: could not connect to server: Connection refused
    Is the server running on host "localhost" (127.0.0.1) and accepting
    TCP/IP connections on port 5432?
could not connect to server: Cannot assign requested address
    Is the server running on host "localhost" (::1) and accepting

@ppeczek
changed the system from arch based to ubuntu based, and seems to work fine
Piotr Pęczek
@ppeczek
Buuut the app is exiting immediately. I will check the behaviour for various Dockerfile settings

Is there any simple way to change default language in Consul?
Piotr Pęczek
@ppeczek
heroku manual also fails :(
but that's probably caused by no runtime
heroku installs ruby 2.5.0 by default
Piotr Pęczek
@ppeczek
and the lowest supported version by heroku is 2.4.5
This message was deleted
which works fine for Consul
Piotr Pęczek
@ppeczek
could you please write how to create admin in clean Consul? :D
I've got so far:
User.create!(username: "admin", email: "admin@consul.dev", password: "xcLGBidgq58b6mKpvVjh", password_confirmation: "test", admin: true, moderator: true)
Piotr Pęczek
@ppeczek
@voodoorai2000 ?
Piotr Pęczek
@ppeczek
ok, got it. It also could be useful in manual
M.vd.L
@milovanderlinden
@ppeczek we override the default language by changing application_custom.rb
module Consul
  class Application < Rails::Application
    config.i18n.default_locale = :nl
    config.i18n.available_locales = [:nl]
  end
end
The first line sets the default, the second line makes sure dutch is the only language, be careful with that one as some of the seeds, particullary dev_seed contains strings in the english locale which will break the start of the docker container.
Piotr Pęczek
@ppeczek
@milovanderlinden thanks! Unfortunately after updates Docker isn't working at all ;(

Hi guys, need some help on connecting to Aws with this command sudo ansible-playbook -v consul.yml -i hosts, on my local ubuntu terminal it says that

@leog
Hi all! I was wondering what does the DB contain when the installer gets used for a staging or production environment?
Piotr Pęczek
@ppeczek
staging and prod use different databases
Leo Giovanetti
@leog
makes sense
so what is the default data that gets populated into the dbs for each environment? Is that part of the installer?
Piotr Pęczek
@ppeczek
yes
db:create creates db for current environment
db:migrate migrates tables to the newest structure
db:seed populates db
if you want to prepare deployment database, you need to do all of above for deployment
same goes for staging and dev
Leo Giovanetti
@leog
ok, so I need to prepare a database seed for the environment I want to deploy, right?
or is there any basic seed for every environment?
Leo Giovanetti
@leog
anyway, I already deployed, I was just wondering how can I restart a server deployed with Ansible? I had to change some settings but unless I restart they will not apply
