Hello everyone! I'm giving support to a consul installation and we have doubts about the verification process. After introducing the code received by SMS there's a final verification step where it asks you to get verified in person in an office or request a postal letter. Where do the admins see the users that have requested a letter - so they can be sent? Where does a user introduce the code received in the letter? Regarding the in-person verification process: where can an admin verify a user? I've reviewed the code and the documentation but can't find info about this.

  1. It used to be an offline process. The letter verification feature has very little conversion, so it's going to be removed, maybe left as optional. We know the letter path is still showing, thanks for the reminder :relieved: We'll send a PR soon to fix that.

  2. In the Verification::LetterController but the links to this controller have been removed, as a pre-step to removing this feature.

One last question: is there any difference regarding voting between being verified at level 2 or 3?

I'm seeing in models/abilities/common.rb that for the vote actions is enough with level 2 verification, but in the UI it says "❌ Participar en las votaciones finales" until the admin verifies you manually.

@voodoorai2000 was a configuration issue, the delivery method was declared twice, first with the :stmp value, then with :letter_opener, so the application was taking the second one. Just delete the 'letter_opener' line and the emails arrivied. Thanks for asking.

No difference, a user that is level 2 can do all actions that a level 3 can do. Sorry about that, we are working on improving that misleading message :pray:

hey, is docker manual up to date?
during docker-compose run app rake db:create/migrate/anything I get error:
    PG::ConnectionBad: could not connect to server: Connection refused
    Is the server running on host "localhost" (127.0.0.1) and accepting

heroku installs ruby 2.5.0 by default

@ppeczek we override the default language by changing application_custom.rb
module Consul

    config.i18n.default_locale = :nl
    config.i18n.available_locales = [:nl]
  end
end
The first line sets the default, the second line makes sure dutch is the only language, be careful with that one as some of the seeds, particullary dev_seed contains strings in the english locale which will break the start of the docker container.

Hi guys, need some help on connecting to Aws with this command sudo ansible-playbook -v consul.yml -i hosts, on my local ubuntu terminal it says that

yes
db:create creates db for current environment
db:migrate migrates tables to the newest structure
db:seed populates db
if you want to prepare deployment database, you need to do all of above for deployment
same goes for staging and dev

Hi, managed to get all issues fixed on the AWS side, so the site is up and running. same as Leo, after making changes to the Consul files which service need to be restarted in order for me to see the changes ?

Hi, I recently installed Consul on Ubuntu 16.04 and it worked fine until I rebooted the system. Now I am getting 502 Bad Gateway error. connect() to unix:/home/deploy/consul/sockets/unicorn.sock failed (111: Connection refused) while connecting to upstream. Can you help me with this please?
