    As for "I thought updating a CBModel object which resides inside NSArray of another CBModel would be cheap as it would hold just a reference to the other object." — That is correct. References between CBLModels are simply stored as string properties with the document ID(s).

    @tfalencar
    okay; thanks!
    Jens Alfke
    @snej
    In other words there's a one-to-one relationship between a CBLModel and a document. There's no such thing as a "root document". Hope that helps.
    Pasin Suriyentrakorn
    @pasin
    I think another solution would be using inverse relationship, recently added to CBLModel (couchbase/couchbase-lite-ios@0445016).

    @tfalencar
    @snej : sorry bad term - I meant parent not necessarily ‘root’ object. thanks @pasin : I thought about that possibilty as well.. I was just trying to figure the best ‘design pattern’ since there are many ways to achieve the same goal

    Hello!!

    @tleyden
    hey @razorblade446

    @razorblade446
    Sorry to bother here, i'm trying to test CBL+ForestDB, but decided to link my app to couchbase, not to copy the framework.
    So far with instructions from @snej i was able to link my app with cbl, but my app complains about "CouchbaseLite/CouchbaseLite.h" not present.
    Any suggestion for fixing this in Xcode?
    i've tried $(BUILD_ROOT)/../IntermediateBuildFilesPath/UninstalledProducts for Header Search Path but no go...

    @tleyden
    I think you should respond to @snej over the mailing list thread (or wherever). he doesn't check gitter very often.

    @razorblade446
    Umm i was hoping somebody could give me lights on this thing, i think is not exactly related to CBL but some Xcode config not present...

    @tleyden
    I sent @pasin a skype message, he might be able to help. It's been a while since I've used xcode that heavily, so not sure I can help

    @pasin
    @razorblade446 Can you try something like $CONFIGURATION_BUILD_DIR/../Debug-ios-universal/CouchbaseLite.framework/Headers/?
    You may try both CouchbaseLite/CouchbaseLite.h and just CouchbaseLite.h.
    Frederic Yesid Peña Sánchez
    @razorblade446
    Thanks @pasin but still having the linker error
    My includes worked with #include <CouchbaseLite/CouchbaseLite.h>
    note the "<>"
    I've looking several QAs in Stack, tryed various macros for the headers, but nogo
    My project sets as "target" dependencies: CBL iOS, CBL ForestDB Storage
    And Link Binary with Libraries: CouchbaseLite.framework, libCBLForestDBStorage.a
    But the headers cant be found :(

    Right now trying deleting "DerivedData"
    Rebuilding all..
    Frederic Yesid Peña Sánchez
    @razorblade446
    One thing i notice, there is no trail of "CouchbaseLite.framework" on DerivedData..
    May I'm missing some target definition?
    Frederic Yesid Peña Sánchez
    @razorblade446
    I've changed my target dependencies to "CouchbaseLite.framework iOS", "CBLForestDBStorage" and seems to work
    But framework complained about CodeSigning (Why a framework needs signing?)
    Frederic Yesid Peña Sánchez
    @razorblade446
    Signed framework with my team (may the submodule be updated every time is pulled from GIT), now complains about several missing symbols for armv7
    Frederic Yesid Peña Sánchez
    @razorblade446
    Removed ForestDBStorage and worked... but need to test ForestDB..

    @razorblade446
    Declined option to link directly, copying instead :'(

    Hi, I was looking for information on how to use the related documents in CBLModels as I cannot say any helpful examples out there.
    I'm currently using Swift.
    Traun Leyden
    @tleyden
    @engmsaleh this project is in swift and uses CBModel with related docs: https://github.com/tleyden/office-radar
    Mohamed Saleh Zaied
    @engmsaleh
    @tleyden Thanks I will check this example
    Mohamed Saleh Zaied
    @engmsaleh
    @tleyden I think it is all Objective-C, anyway I will check it thanks a lot
    Traun Leyden
    @tleyden
    @engmsaleh you're right! this is the one I was thinking of: https://github.com/tleyden/deepstyle-ios/
    Mohamed Saleh Zaied
    @engmsaleh
    @tleyden Thanks a lot :)
    Mohamed Saleh Zaied
    @engmsaleh
    @tleyden I have checked the Deepstyle example and as I can see that all it have is the DeepStyleJob model and it doesn't have any related document/models, please correct me if I'm wrong
    I have found another example which is the TodoLite example and found that it implement the related document when it set the owner of the list
    I have tried a similar approach, but I got the following error when I try that
    [mobshop.UserProfile cbjson_encodeTo:canonical:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x608000279200
    UserProfile is the model that will be related to the other document
    Could you please advise

    Hello, anyone knows where to get binaries for v1.4.0.1 Couchbase lite iOS? I can't see them on github nor on the couchbase website.
    Traun Leyden
    @tleyden
    hey @sammy-SC can you ask on the forum and I'll make sure someone who knows the answer gets back to you?
    we need to deprecate this room and herd folks over to https://gitter.im/couchbase/discuss -- the gitter stuff was split up too much a bit too early, and very few couchbasers are using gitter at the moment
