Hey is there any way to pass a prefix to nvm in order to tell the script to install node versions in /usr/local for instance ?

➜ cat .nvmrc
v0.10.28
➜ nvm use
Found '~ /someproject/.nvmrc' with version <v0.10.28>
N/A: version "N/A" is not yet installed.

You need to run "nvm install N/A" to install it before using it.
I also got that with v0.31.4

@anchnk no. nvm is per-user, so you need to have one $NVM_DIR for each user.
meaning if you have 10 users, you'll have 10 separate copies of node. that's a good thing.
also, nvm install will install the version for you - nvm use only works after it's installed.

@ljharb Ok, i understand the design for the multi-user dogma, it makes sense.
For the nvm use command i though that the output would be
➜ nvm use
Found '~ /someproject/.nvmrc' with version <v0.10.28>
N/A: version "v0.10.28" is not yet installed.

You need to run "nvm install v0.10.28" to install it before using it.

@anchnk that'd be an improvement! Want to make a PR that adds that?
