ANY WAY
Amy Guy
@rhiaro
I think we could consider moving the last sentence of the abstract to the start
I know this is not super important right now :)
Sarven Capadisli
@csarven
I want to save 2 lines in the conclusions area
some sentences are dangling.
@rhiaro ?

One of the problems the SWJ loomp paper was a clear problem statement. As far as I currently understood, it's mostly UI and modeling.

@csarven

@all That was great.. holy wow. Still can't believe we got this going! That was hardcore team work there :)
ICWE/Easychair got its PDF and we have the ICWE branch for "academic" purposes: https://github.com/csarven/dokieli-rww/tree/icwe2017 .. Let's not talk about this for like, well 2 weeks or so until they get back to us (hopefully with an "accept") :)
The master branch will be.. well, for the Webby parts purposes. Some syntactical fixes there can make its way to the icwe2017 branch for the purpose of camera-ready or whatever (if we get there).

@csarven
I updated http://csarven.ca/dokieli-rww so it reflects the latest master. I will make more updates over the next days to fix/improve markup etc.. The article also has its own Inbox as well as a pointer to a public annotation service. (I already got my first annotation in ;))

I also want to mention that I'm very thankful that you all contributed and support this. It goes without saying that it helps a great deal towards my PhD. Whether this article gets accepted or not, that's beside the point. :)

@csarven

I'll clean up the article over the weekend. We can announce it public and invite peer-reviews.

Great job Sarven and all - looks really good!

@RubenVerborgh
Very happy to have been a little part of this effort. It's the official start for decentralization for me, and I really want to focus my activities much more on this.
Sarven Capadisli
@csarven
Exciting and frustrating.
Sarven Capadisli
@csarven
@soeren1611 I noticed that you sent an annotation from your local copy of dokieli-rww to the annotation service. Did that display okay on your end?
soeren1611
@soeren1611
no, nothing was displayed
Sarven Capadisli
@csarven
I just tried it from file:/// and it worked for me.
No need to sign-in or anything like that
Would you mind creating a new one?
soeren1611
@soeren1611
it actually shows on the bottom in a section interactions
I did not have to login or anything
Sarven Capadisli
@csarven
OIH! I think I know why.
I should log this.
Ok.. one quick try please. git pull and try again
soeren1611
@soeren1611
I'm using Chrome on Windows
ok
it should be shown as a marginal note, right?
its still now
also if I click on the links I get: HTTP 406: Accept type not acceptable. See also https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7231#section-6.5.6
Sarven Capadisli
@csarven
I think it was not showing in marginalia because of the line breaks across sentences in the HTML source. I updated the source to get rid of that. I'm suspecting that should fix it
Yea, that's "normal"
The browser doesn't understand JSON-LD and the server can't return it in HTML. I'll deal with that later.. but the behaviour of looking at that in the browser is normal (for now).
soeren1611
@soeren1611
how do you actually ancor the position of the annotation?
Sarven Capadisli
@csarven
It finds what was annotated (what you've selected) and its position on the screen. It just puts it near by
soeren1611
@soeren1611
using a hash of the annotated HTML fragment?
Sarven Capadisli
@csarven
Yes, something like that.. nearest parent.. and then looks to find your selectipon with that
the annotation has that information
Did you git pull?
soeren1611
@soeren1611
we once wrote a paper about that:
I mentioned dokieli
Sarven Capadisli
@csarven
Thanks. Considered to "open URLs" in the past. So, created linkeddata/dokieli#175 to also include the use-case from etherpad-lite
