It would be fantastic to match it up with a Cypht release with JMAP support :-)

Hi
I'm very new in devOps, trying to setup email server,clients with postfix, postfixadmin, cypht...
I've installed cypht but kinda lost what to do next, I mean imap host, pop3 host etc.
Can anybody help me ?
Marc Laporte
@marclaporte_gitlab
Perhaps you can start with an all-in-one solution?
Marc Laporte
@marclaporte_gitlab
A great option is https://james.apache.org/documentation.html which supports SMTP and IMAP, and also JMAP (like Cypht)

The Tiki Cypht integration just got deeper! https://sourceforge.net/p/tikiwiki/code/75316

It will permit to confirm calendar invitations received via Cypht
@wall-e-08 Maybe this can help? https://github.com/chmanie/hemhem

Marc Laporte

@Cypht community: FYI, we are working very hard towards this vision: https://dev.tiki.org/Email-as-a-first-class-citizen
This is Cypht within Tiki, and we will upstream as much as possible to Cypht.

I just added: jasonmunro/cypht#371

At the risk of repeating myself, I am thoroughly enjoying have one interface which aggregates (for now) 3 mailboxes. I actually have a few other email accounts I will add later.
And this will change the dynamics of my email management.
Marc Laporte
@marclaporte_gitlab
I am involved in many projects: Tiki, WikiSuite, my business (which is changing name, domain name and structure), plus my personal email, plus I have some accounts with big mail providers (Gmail, Outlook, etc.) And some special projects with their own domain name (ex.: https://pluginproblems.com/), and thus, with some email associated. I also have/had some test accounts when I'd like to experiment with some interesting services (ex.: Fastmail). It's a challenge to remain efficient!
Because it's hard to manage, I often use mail redirects, but that's no good because emails don't end up archived in the relevant mailbox. And I end up writing to people from my work address to discuss topics related to my volunteer activities.
Thanks to Cypht, there is now a path to a sane / efficient process
Marc Laporte
@marclaporte_gitlab
To help with this challenge, and moving messages between mailboxes, I have been using Claws Mail, which is the best client I have found to manage the huge amount of email I have. It's not fast, but it's faster than all the others I tried. Well, I am sure it's very fast if your mailboxes are of a reasonable size...
But firing up a desktop mail client, that will take a while to sync, feels so much like 1999. So I rarely do, making it even slower each time to sync.
Marc Laporte
@marclaporte_gitlab
Now, in Cypht, I just click move, and pick the email account and folder (this part could be better with a folder filter/search)
Roundcube doesn't have this feature: roundcube/roundcubemail#4972
Marc Laporte
@marclaporte_gitlab
So thank you and congrats to Jason for his fantastic work!
jasonmunro @jasonmunro yawns and waves to everyone
Jason Munro
@jasonmunro
@marclaporte_gitlab the move/copy between accounts is brilliant yes? :) It's not very well coded I'm afraid, but it works pretty well and is something I have never seen in a webmail (or desktop) client before.
@all Sorry I have been absent of late, just busy with work and family and stuff. I'm going to try to be around more often here so don't hesitate to hit me up with questions or feedback and feel free to DM me. I will respond when I can.

Cypht related story: for my day job (the one that pays the bills), I needed to migrate some PHP scripts I put together for an internal dashboard to a more secure, future proof framework. Potentially for a SAAS but for now short term per-user access to specific internal resources. So I set up Cypht with DB auth, and only the core and site module sets. I used the site module set to override and remove some E-mail related stuff from the menu, and BOOM: a generic secure application framework. Since I ported all the scripts to Cypht modules and it's working great. I admit however I did fork the code and remove/alter some core stuff, but 90% of what I needed could be done with the module system (probably all of it but I was lazy about it a bit). ;)
Marc Laporte
@marclaporte_gitlab
It is fantastic that you are using Cypht for your work!
AFAIK, all desktop email clients permit drag and drop of emails between accounts. Perhaps not with a nifty right-click to pick your destination directory.

@jasonmunro I have make some notice, when I'm working on my local cypht installation, I can't logged in with the user which I create when I was setting my development environnement. It pass only when I use mail-debug version of cypht. But I usually use the same access

Hi, is there any news on the LDAP writing support issue? I can write into my LDAP address book with phpLDAPadmin 1.2.2., but Cypht cannot add/edit/delete contacts. Intending to delete a contact, Cypht gives an error message 'Cannot delete contact'. For adding/ deleting, no message is provided.
Marc Laporte
@marclaporte_gitlab
@robert-winkler I don't know but I am interested by the topic. We have an interested for Tiki as well
Use case: We want to use Cypht with Apache James, and for users to come from Tiki
Apache James easily gets users from LDAP, so one option is write info in LDAP...

Hi, is there any guide on the creation of themes? I copied a theme css into /modules/themes/assets, registered it in the themes.ini in the /app_data . After running config_gen.php, it appears in in the settings menu. Fine so far. But after changing the .css I cannot notice the changes in the interface, even after running config_gen.php and logging out/in. What am I missing?
Jason Munro
@jasonmunro
@robert-winkler I need to fire up ldap and recheck the situation, I will try to get to that this weekend. For theme development it sounds like you are doing the right thing, you will want to use your browser dev tools to ensure the theme css is being included.
theme css is included after the main combined site.css file - so you should not need to rerun config_gen, however you might need a hard refresh for the browser to avoid caching. Also you often need to prepend !important to new theme css rules to force an override of the original

Sorry for bombarding you with so many questions, but after testing clients for multiple email accounts, Cypht is now my favourite (low latency, clean design, LDAP, RSS integration etc.).
Is there any possibility to use GnuPG?
