    Hi any one have a good example ~/.juptyer/custom/custom.css that can be used with RISE it doesn't seem to work with my .reveal settings I usually use
    Damian Avila
    @damianavila
    @tjtaill we are working in a PR to be able to provide an easy way to inject css: damianavila/RISE#296
    custom.css is probably not working for you because it gets loaded before the RISE / reveal.js css, I presume...

    @damianavila
    @/all I have released RISE 5.1.0. Blog post coming soon, but in the mean time you can try it in your own box or try it on Binder! which graciously supports RISE starting today. One example: http://mybinder.org/v2/gh/binder-examples/jupyter-rise/master?filepath=index.ipynb (we are making use of a new config option called autolaunch which allows this binder to start immediately with the slideshow view). There are a ton of other new things thanks to @parmentelat, so stay tuned for some more discussion about them in the blog post. Cheers.

    @damianavila
    @/all , blog post lives here: http://www.damian.oquanta.info/posts/rise-510-is-out.html, with info about the new features.

    @parmentelat
    there is an issue opened on github about changing the default settings for RISE
    please comment on damianavila/RISE#321 if you have an opinion or suggestion about that

    @travigd
    Hi, all! Is there anyway to make RISE default to making every cell a slide? If not I would just write my own mini-extension to add the appropriate metadata whenever a notebook is loaded/cell is inserted if it doesn't already exist.
    Ruben Di Battista
    @rubendibattista
    Using jq you can do that with a one liner... :)
    Damian Avila
    @damianavila
    @travigd @rubendibattista there were some discussion about this in the issue tracker... it is a kind of meta RISE thing, so I am not sure what would be a good UI for that inside RISE... probably a miniextension is the simplest way to go...
    Damian Avila
    @damianavila
    @travigd @rubendibattista thinking a little bit more, I think we can probably add a keyboard shortcut to enable that... can you open an issue for that? (or find the related one where some of these things were discussed and add this to the discussion). Thanks!
    Travis DePrato
    @travigd
    @damianavila I was just thinking some kind of option in nbconfig/notebook.json (which I believe is the way the other RISE options are configured? I'm pretty new to RISE myself, I am but a humble proxy for a less technical faculty member)
    But at any rate I can open an issue later today if you'd like me too. :)
    Damian Avila
    @damianavila
    @travigd , yep, an optional thing on RISE to enable this behavior is probably doable as well, please open the issue and we can continue the discussion there. Thanks!
    Travis DePrato
    @travigd
    @damianavila #329 I'd also be happy to mock up a pull request myself in the near future

    @travigd more than welcome :wink:

    Etienne Roesch
    @eroesch
    Thanks @damianavila for the update!
    Question, is there a way to create a pdf of the slideshow?
    Damian Avila
    @damianavila
    @eroesch , people used decktape successfully: https://github.com/damianavila/RISE/issues/127#issuecomment-289034824
    Reveal.js has also a way to generate a pdf that "should" work, but I did not test it lately (a usually breaks for different reveal.js releases): https://github.com/hakimel/reveal.js/#pdf-export
    Etienne Roesch
    @eroesch
    Thanks for the ultrafast response @damianavila, as ever!
    I am a bit crunched on time this time, and the overhead of making it work will probably not alleviate my stress. I'll pass on the nice pdf feature this time! But definitely a +1 from me towards having an easy way to do that. More and more, I am asked to send my presentation before giving the talk, and often I am not allowed to bring my own machine...
    Damian Avila
    @damianavila
    @eroesch it is in my todo list to make the pdf generation something simple in the near future. It is a high priority item for me, so hopefully you will have that soon.
    Etienne Roesch
    @eroesch
    @damianavila Awesome :)

    sorry if it's documented and I can't find it, but is it possible to have a sub-list as its own fragment?
    i.e. the 1st-level bullet point will appear
    then on the next "space" press, a 2nd-level bullet point will appear
    putting something like
    * 1st level
      * second level
    in one fragment cell causes it all to appear at once
    Antoine Liutkus
    @aliutkus
    hi there, thanks for the awesome work
    still no way to render easily to pdf ?

    @yerlanok
    Hi, Locally I have RISE button. But when I use mybinder publicly, it doesnot appear. Do I need to specify somewhere?
    Damian Avila
    @damianavila
    @yerlanok check that you have the correct dependencies... ie: https://github.com/binder-examples/jupyter-rise/blob/master/environment.yml
    yerlanok
    @yerlanok
    Hi, Damian
    Thank you for your reply. I checked it. Even made it same as you suggested. It still doesnot show RISE button. Should I add additional reference file or somthg?
    Damian Avila
    @damianavila
    @yerlanok, I just visited your binder link and I can see the button w/o any problem.
    Rainz86
    @Rainz86
    Hi Damian,
    Great work on RISE! I'm new to the concept and trying to work out how to run test slides. When i press the enter slide show button, RISE runs but nothing is displayed. What may be the problem
    Damian Avila
    @damianavila
    @Rainz86 can you tell me which notebook version are you using? This kind of problems were reported some time ago with some specific notebook version.
    Rainz86
    @Rainz86
    ipython (6.4.0)
    ipython-genutils (0.2.0)
    notebook (5.5.0)
    Damian Avila
    @damianavila
    @Rainz86 do you see any error in the browser console? How did you installed the extension? I think you opened an issue, let's continue the discussion there...
    Jason Sachs
    @jason-s
    Is there any way to add annotations? (arrows/text outside the normal RISE/IPython flow) I would like to avoid PowerPoint but I want to highlight certain things.
    Damian Avila
    @damianavila
    @jason-s we are actually have a PR to add a chalkboard integration that you could find useful for these purposes: damianavila/RISE#355
    Planning to release in the next 2 weeks including that feature.
    Josef Heinen
    @jheinen
    I upgraded to 5.4.1 but I can't see the chalkboard buttons. Do they have to be enabled anywhere?
    Josef Heinen
    @jheinen
    My ~/.jupyter/rise.json is a 1-liner: {"enable_chalkboard":true}
    Damian Avila
    @damianavila
    @jheinen , you need to put the info under the nbconfig section, something like this:
