@thefringeninja
this one?
Damian Hickey
@damianh
Ok, that falls back to the connections default credentials if none are supplied for the request
João Bragança
@thefringeninja
yes, but that fix is not in as of 3.4
Damian Hickey

i know right?
Damian Hickey
@damianh
indeed
João Bragança
@thefringeninja
i am p.sure that default cred stuff came in later after I had done the work
Damian Hickey
@damianh
not sure that fixes the problem
João Bragança
@thefringeninja
just for the hell of it, try setting the credentials explicitly on each method call

EventStore/EventStore@20fb5fb
That was done in this ^ commit

have a look when you get home. I need to grab some dinner.
If you have time oc

@thefringeninja yo
João Bragança

laff. I still don't have vs 2015 on my machine
Damian Hickey
@damianh
get that sorted
João Bragança
@thefringeninja
sure when I have time... don't think I can afford to spend half a day fucking around with a 2015 install
the thing is everyone says it should work with 2013, i just need to install something. why this something is not available in the extensions gallery eludes me
Damian Hickey
@damianh
start it off before you go home
protip: download the iso from MSDN that has update1 applied to it
This could be much better encapsulated - I'd have never have guessed this.

Landed idempotent handling for stream appends (ExpectedVersion.Any, NoStream and specific versions).
Dan Barua
@danbarua
FYI I never implemented idempotent stream appends because I'm not using it yet
(in postgres)
So tests for that are failing as a TODO

looks like I have some catching up to do

Damian Hickey
@damianh
@danbarua I think it may be a good idea to let me stabilize MsSql first.. I'm just landing the subscription API now too. There may be more churn.
Matt Cotton
@mattcotton-justgiving
@damianh we're using a fork of Cedar and intending to store events and metadata as byte[] (varbinary(max) in SQL). Would you consider a PR on this?
Bart Waterschoot
@bwaterschoot
@thefringeninja I see you already did a PR for the SHA1 issue we found, cheers ;)
Damian Hickey
@damianh
@mattcotton-justgiving why byte[]? One of the reasons I moved away from that was because from an ops / support perspective, splunking eventstreams as byte[] using standard sql tools was painful.
and most people, in my experience, just used Json.
Matt Cotton
@mattcotton-justgiving
just for size and serialisation performance reasons. We can always add an ops dashboard for query the store.
Damian Hickey
@damianh
What serializer are you using?
Matt Cotton
@mattcotton-justgiving
protobuf-net
Matt Cotton
@mattcotton-justgiving
Although we're coming back round to using JSON now. So this is now more of a theoretical question.
Damian Hickey
@damianh
At this point I'm going to stay with string (json), but its a topic I reserve to revisit pre 1.0

Hi
I have an example of some problem:

Example situation:
One transaction creates events (event_id = 4,5,6) in data table but not finished yet. The second transaction starts (add new events with event_id = 7,8) and commits first. Projections thread reads events with optimized way (READPAST hint in MS SQL Server): 1,2,3,7,8 (4,5,6 are not committed yet) and stores the last sequence equals 8.

Then the first transaction commits.

Now, we have events from 1 to 8 but 4,5,6 are not processed by projections.

Is CES is prepared for such a problem?
