Make sure that you are returning the promise from the it function and then it should error
Ideally chakram should have moaned that you did not wait for the promise

OK I needed to use chakram.all instead of chakram.wait
i.e. this passes:
describe("Chakram", function() {
it("should provide a simple async testing framework", function () {
chakram.get("http://httpbin.org/get").then(function (response)
{
expect(response.body.url).to.equal('http://httpbin.org/get')
sdlkfjsdlkfj
});
chakram.get("http://httpbin.org/get").then(function (response)
{
expect(response.body.url).to.equal('http://httpbin.org/get')
sdlkfjsdlkfj
});
return chakram.wait();
});
});
but using chakram.wait around the gets does error
aaaaargh promises!
