@Carmenjara
Hi all. I hope someone can help me with the following problem.
First of all, I'm working on Visual Studio Code with Flutter on Linux, but when I run the app on my real device the following alert appears "Cannot launch without an active device". It is worth mentioning that I am using Vysor to access my device.
Thanks for your help!
Randal L. Schwartz
@RandalSchwartz
Does it show up in "Flutter devices"
Carmenjara
@Carmenjara
Neither. I activated to my mobile the USB Debugging and execute "flutter doctor" and it still doesn't appear.

@DanTup

@jodinathan sorry for the delay - Gitter's notifications are not very reliable for me (Discord's are better though). Are you still having this issue?

@Carmenjara are you using the Linux machine directly, or is it something remote (like using SSH/Docker/etc.)? Does it show up if you run adb devices? (you can get the path to ADB by running flutter config --machine to find the Android SDK path, then adding /platform-tools/adb to the end)

Carmenjara
@Carmenjara
Hello @DanTup . I'm using the Linux machine directly. Now it recognizes my real phone, the problem is that the application does not launch on the phone. I don't know if you can help me, I really appreciate your time.

@daramanand
Set the 'program' value in your launch config (eg 'bin/main.dart') then launch again
Jonathan Rezende
@jodinathan
@DanTup yes. Unfortunately I had to switch from VSCode as it was impossible to use it.

@Carmenjara
Hi @daramanand .The settings are fine, however, I cannot launch the application on my smartphone.

@Carmenjara @jodinathan could you file issues at https://github.com/Dart-Code/Dart-Code with an exact description of what you're trying, and exactly what you're seeing?
@Carmenjara for the big error when running flutter run, please try "flutter run -v" which should log more info

Hello everyone, can someone help me. I need to create a search bar, in flutter with Dart and MySQL, that extracts a single result based on the input text, without having to extract the entire list of objects previously.

Is there a way in VSCode to restart DartAnalyzer?

@simolus3
@zoechi You can open the Command Palette and select Dart: Restart Analysis Server

Hello all, does Dart Code on VS Code support visualizing code coverage?
Matias Meno
@enyo
When I try to run tests in a project with non-nullable, it doesn't work because there is no non-nullable flag apparently. I have enabled the experiment in analysis_options.yaml. Is there a way to get this to work in vscode?
Randal L. Schwartz
@RandalSchwartz
I’m confused about how to properly scope what portion of my explorer is being handed to dartanalyzer.
For example, if I open VSC on the top of my dart repo everything works ok, but if I open VSC initially on my “Flutter” directory (one level up) to review and compare a few projects, they’re all considered part of the same dart repo, and it confuses the analyzer.
What’s the proper way to feed the proper paths to the analyzer as you’re changing scopes of interest?
Randal L. Schwartz
@RandalSchwartz
@DanTup ?
Oh, I think he’s europe time.

Sorry, notifications don't work here so I mostly use Discord now - I often forget about here.

@zoechi @simolus3 FWIW, the Dart: Restart Analysis Server command will be removed soon, but there's a Dart: Reanalyze Project that should fix the issues that people usually want to restart for. If you have an issue that restarting fixes but that does not, please file a bug! (actually, if you need to use either command then file a bug - neither should be required and I'd love to find the cases they are).

@enyo could you file a bug with a repro? I suspect a flag is required to be passed somewhere, though I'm not sure where.

@RandalSchwartz we basically give your workspace folders straight ton the analyzer as they are. If you open C:\Foo then that's what we give the analyzer. If you're in a multi-root workspace, we'll give it each root.

Opening a folder further up shouldn't confuse the analyzer, as it should walk down the tree and identify the projects from their pubspecs. However, we'll only walk down so many levels (in Dart-Code) when trying to identify if your project is Dart or Flutter, so if you have a deeply-nested Flutter project, we might end up loading in "Dart mode". You can tell if this has happened from the status bar saying "Dart (version number)" instead of "Flutter (version number)". Is that what you're seeing? If not, I would file an issue.

(also, there's a dart.excludeFolders or similar if you have folders that should be excluded, for example invalid code, folders with cycling symlinks, etc.)

@zoechi
@DanTup thanks for the update

Hmm. Now it seems to be working as I expect, not mixing diffeent code repos together.

Hello all, i have a problem with Intelli Sense in VS Code. It's too slow, and I don't know how to fix it. On the link below you can see how slow it is:

Does anybody have an idea how to fix it?
Danny Tuppeny
@DanTup

@birkoni5 can you try enabling the "Preview LSP" option in the VS Code/Dart settings and see if that makes any difference?

(FWIW, notifications in Gitter don't work very well, so it's better to ask in Discord (linked at the top) or raise GitHub issues for faster responses - I remember to check here much less often 😬)

Toni Birka
@birkoni5
@DanTup It makes a huge difference. Thank you :D
Okay, I will ask in Discord next time or raise an issue.

By default, when hovering a class like this: Scaffold(...) I get the documentation of the constructor of Scaffold. What is the easies way to see the docblock of the class itself?
I know I can Cmd-click on Scaffold and it gets me to there, but then it switches my context, and also I don't have any formatting from markdown

Hello, Devs. I would like to know how I can use Routes, and separate my html Template from Backend programming. Without using AngularDart or Aqueduct. because I am making a Dart Web Site, using pure Dart for this. The example I say, as if it were an include or requeired used in PHP or Vujes ... Is there a package in Dart also for Routes and Templates.?
