I've done some research but got lost in the comments

_ref.child take a String and realty.id seems to be an int
andesappal
@andesappal
Thanks for the light @lejard-h ! Let me see if I can explicitly define 'child()'
andesappal
@andesappal
Should I somehow define _ref.push(realty); as an int, so the child()s automatically take in ints?
Future addRealty(Realty realty) async {
    var res = await _ref.push(realty);
    return res.key;
  }

  Future editRealty(Realty realty) async {
    return await _ref.child(realty.id).set(realty);
  }

  Future removeRealty(Realty realty) async {
    return await _ref.child(realty.id).remove();
  }
Hadrien Lejard
@lejard-h
yes or just do _ref.child(realty.id.toString())

hi,
does anybody know, is the angulardart project discontinued? https://github.com/dart-lang/angular/graphs/commit-activity
Hadrien Lejard
@lejard-h
Hi @andreskask123 it's not, they work on an internal repo at google and sync with the github repo sometimes
andreskask123
@andreskask123
Oh ok, good to hear. Can you share that do you know this for a fact, that it’s not discontinued or jjust assume it from their general workflow (internal repo and time-to-time syncing with public repo)?
Because in some ways i can even imagine this to happen, because of flutter’s traction and flutter for web recent technical preview.
Hadrien Lejard
@lejard-h
I don't know this for a fact, It's is mostly based on what they are saying. They do have a slow workflow on angular and have irregular time-to-time syncing, but angular dart is used on critical App at Google (adwords, adsense ...) and flutter web has a different goal.
andesappal
@andesappal
Is it possible they're gradually replacing Angular for Flutter on AdWords, AdSense, and CRM?
andreskask123
@andreskask123
i was thinking about it as well, but i have no actual info about it
and i don’t know how well does the ‘hot-reload’ feature works for the other devs, but i’m experiencing 6-10sec builds even on quite a small application. Pluss refreshing the app in chrome takes another 4-6 seconds. Which leads me to considering switching from angular to flutter (even tho it’s in tech preview atm)
andesappal
@andesappal

yes or just do _ref.child(realty.id.toString())

Thanks @lejard-h. That reminds me of https://github.com/angular-examples/forms/blob/master/lib/src/hero.dart#L7, which I don't understand: Why represent a var defined as an int, as a string?

andesappal
@andesappal
push() is actually not in the DartLang API
Hadrien Lejard
@lejard-h
sorry I did not get your question
andesappal
@andesappal
Why shouldn't int be read and written as int, instead of String?
Hadrien Lejard
@lejard-h
Dart is type safe so an int is not the same type as a String, you must convert it to do comparison
This is not like javascript where '1' == 1 is true
Hadrien Lejard
@lejard-h
in string interpolation, toString function is automatically call, that's why you can do " Hello $myInt " inside a string
in your case you can do _ref.child("${realty.id}")

Has AngularDart just announced that it becomes part of Flutter? https://twitter.com/AngularDart/status/1174353002418724865
andesappal
@andesappal
I don't know how to write JS. Thanks Hadrien.

That's one interesting tweet

I have a weird issue where path: '.*' is supported by Webstorm on the Angular's Router project, but not on mine:

Seems like they have a listen() on this channel? :-)

Jacob MacDonald
@jakemac53
That tweet is just saying angular related things are going to the dart_lang twitter now not the flutter one lol
very misleading wording though to be sure
andesappal
@andesappal
I see!
Jacob MacDonald
@jakemac53
I think what it was trying to say is that since there is now more than one actual web framework they are consolidating all things web into the dart_lang twitter
andesappal
@andesappal
Is there any statement of intent that Google could release to make clear whether Angular will be replaced by Flutter? Something to guide us.
Tim Sneath
@timsneath
Hey there -- sorry about the misleading wording. Yeah, to be clear, we're not trying to suggest that AngularDart is becoming part of Flutter. Apologies for causing confusion or angst. The backstory is simply that we took a look at our social media handles, and with the rapid growth of followers on our other two Twitter handles (dart_lang and flutterdev), we figured it makes more sense to post news where it will be more broadly seen.
andesappal
@andesappal
Cool, thanks Tim
Tim Sneath
@timsneath
@andesappal we're actively developing AngularDart and its usage within Google continues to grow. We'll continue to update the external repo regularly with enhancements, although I know we've been slow in rolling builds forward from the internal repo.

@andesappal
Which language do guys recommend I build the backend of an AngularDart CRM? Dart, Go, ...?
Jonathan Rezende
@jodinathan
I am using dart and it is working nice
extreme code reusability
andesappal
@andesappal
That's great to hear!
Jonathan Rezende
@jodinathan
If you go for Dart, I suggest you split your project in several packages (libs) that can be shared by back and frontend final-packages

dart angular was the great tool, i've been using angular since angular.js release, after that angular 2 release and so on, now i have angular dart and that is amazing, but i have a question that why site https://angulardart.dev/ look like discontinued
Supan Adit Pratama
@supanadit
and one more question, why angular dart version still 5.3.0, and the angular-cli version is 8.2.7, which is angular dart version is too far from angular-cli version, why it could be happening ?

@alce
Hello! Quick question about the build system.
I am developing an AngularDart app but I do not want to use webdev. I want to use build_runner watch directly, but it seems it always rebuilds the output directory.
This does incremental builds: build_runner watch`` but this does not:build_runner watch --output web:build```. In fact, as soon as I specify an output directory, incrementan builds do not work.
Am I doing something wrong or is this how it's supposed to be?
Sorry, I messed up formatting: This works: build_runner watch, but this does not: build_runner watch --output web:build
Jonathan Rezende
@jodinathan
@supanadit someone from google just said that angular dart will have more stuff as they are rolling builds from their internal repo. As it is well stabilished, they were not in a hurry, but we should see some stuff soon
