@dcsan it won't be spammy? I was thinking bot will text -> use ``` if you're trying to paste codes, not '''
use ``` before and after the codes if you're trying to paste codes
ok let me come up with a few and let me know which one is most suitable
use ``` not '''
did you mean to use ```?
Bill
@kirah1314
Aug 07 2015 01:14
if you're trying to paste codes use ```
Bill
@kirah1314
Aug 07 2015 01:21
use ```
@dcsan ok I think the above should be enough to choose from. I tried to keep it short, simple and direct.

@dcsan I just realized you already stated what to add: :bulb: use backticks! lol
Bill
@kirah1314

Aug 07 2015 20:18
cool
is it working? @kirah1314 ? do you have the app running locally, and able to test?

dc

Aug 07 2015 20:32
i saw your commit
dcsan/gitterbot@9970e47
usually its best to make a branch and work there
rather than committing directly to master
then you can send a pull request, so i can review the changes
before releasing to the world :globe_with_meridians:
Bill
@kirah1314
Aug 07 2015 20:37
@dcsan oh ok, I'll do that next time sorry.

dc
@dcsan
Aug 07 2015 20:37

Aug 07 2015 20:39
one thing is though that since we're using ES6
its better to run with iojs than basic node

dc
@dcsan
Aug 07 2015 20:40

Bill
@kirah1314
Aug 07 2015 20:40
I should download iojs?
dc
@dcsan
Aug 07 2015 20:42
yes
i have a ticket to downgrade our use of javascript to work on vanilla node
but your code currently gives:
/Users/dc/dev/fcc/gitterbot/nap/data/rooms/RoomMessages.js:33
        chance: 1

@dcsan I can't seem to get demobot working...
Where do I get this?
Copy the credentials file

cp .env-EXAMPLE .env

@dcsan oh yeah, I only see a few of the bonfire wiki on github, how about the other bonfire wiki's?
dc
@dcsan
Aug 07 2015 23:30
@irinatag i added a comment here
@kirah1314 you just have to make a copy of that file
and rename it to just .env
Bill
@kirah1314
Aug 07 2015 23:30
but I already have that file
dc
@dcsan
Aug 07 2015 23:30
sorry that instruction is just the mac command line way to do it
Bill
@kirah1314
Aug 07 2015 23:30
no title?
dc
@dcsan
Aug 07 2015 23:31
no, just .env
i guess you would do that in windows file explorer?
Bill
@kirah1314
Aug 07 2015 23:31
it won't let me have a no name file, says i must type a file name haha
dc
@dcsan
Aug 07 2015 23:33
the filename is .env
does windows not allow you to create a file just called .env ?
maybe not since it just sees that as an extension
Bill
@kirah1314
Aug 07 2015 23:34
the file is named: .env-EXAMPLE right now
dc
@dcsan
Aug 07 2015 23:34
thats the project we're using
yeah
Bill
@kirah1314
Aug 07 2015 23:34
i cannot remove -EXAMPLE and name it just .env
i'll do some research later online
brb
can you do it from the cmd line
dc
@dcsan
Aug 07 2015 23:47
hey i renamed the env file see #78
git pull from master and it should just work
@benmcmahon100 how did you get around that originally?
Bill
@kirah1314
Aug 07 2015 23:50
@dcsan i found an answer online
says to rename it as .env.
but i still can't get the bot to run
I tried the app file, run.sh and http://localhost:7891
Bill
@kirah1314
