@pawanrawal Awesome! Now do that on discuss :-)
Actually, wouldn't it be nice if we get notifications here from discourse...
Pawan Rawal
@pawanrawal
Apr 05 2016 01:15
Haha, yes. Will pen down my thoughts there.
This is something we could easily do on hipchat or slack, that is integrating discourse
Manish R Jain
@manishrjain
Apr 05 2016 01:17
Yeah -- You were going to talk to some folks about this right -- do some research and figure out what's the best option for us.

You be the decision maker re: Gitter v/s Slack v/s Hipchat.
@pawanrawal ^
@koppula Email whom? Sorry I don't get the context.
These guys are too good, base camp.

Love their focus on continuing education and work where you want part
Manish R Jain
@manishrjain
Apr 05 2016 01:28
The continuing education thing -- do you see yourself using it?
Pawan Rawal
@pawanrawal
Apr 05 2016 01:29
Basecamp is also an outlier in today's startup scenario
Manish R Jain
@manishrjain
Apr 05 2016 01:29
Definitely nice set of perks -- sounds like they have a great culture
Pawan Rawal
@pawanrawal
Apr 05 2016 01:30
The amount is too high for continuing education but I do try to take a MOOC once a while
This would encourage people to learn stuff
Manish R Jain
@manishrjain
Apr 05 2016 01:31
Interesting!
What about coursera and Udacity etc. Do they charge for their courses?
Pawan Rawal
@pawanrawal
Apr 05 2016 01:31
Yes yes
They are free usually but now have started charging for evaluating assignments and getting certification
Manish R Jain
@manishrjain
Apr 05 2016 01:32
I see.

Apr 05 2016 01:33
Maybe we have something for Books + Kindle books + education costs coverage -- some fixed amount per year that you can get back if you spend on these learning things.
Sure! ttyl.
Pawan Rawal
@pawanrawal
Apr 05 2016 02:41
That sounds good, to have a fix max amount that can be reimbursed
Other thoughts will share on discourse

@pawanrawal
Apr 05 2016 03:28
Wow, that's an amazing article. Made a lot of valid negative points. We definitely need to use discourse more for structured conversations.
Manish R Jain
@manishrjain
Apr 05 2016 03:55
Yeah. We need some guidelines about when to use Gitter, and when to use discourse.
For eg, anything which needs decision making should go to discuss.
Pawan Rawal
@pawanrawal
Apr 05 2016 03:55
Will start another discussion on discourse where we can decide that.

there's a dely in notifications, because Discourse wants people to be able to edit their posts before telling others to read.

Is there any plan to support RocksDB's spatial queries?
Manish R Jain
@manishrjain
Apr 05 2016 10:04
Geo indexing and geo location based queries are in the plans, yes. Whether we use Rocksdb feature or without, that'd be decided later.
