SQL is the language that Postgres uses. So, not sure you can compare them. Maybe you meant MySQL?

There are several reasons but I will give you mines:
I dont also use apache server. I prefer Nginx instead.

I think Postgres is more full featured and robust than MySQL. I think MySQL can be easier to configure though

Postgres+ Nginx consuming lower Cpu on write/read functions.

if you use psql, it would be great if you use it PGadmin
Its very powerfull opensource tool
if I were you (I assume you are new commer to Django world) I dont care DB.
Just focus on mvt structure and DRY principle. Everything else will come when you need them.

@venvyt , I have used the CMD line.. setupn2 DB connection and 2 models.. then loop through each record.. since it's sqlite to MySQL there shouldn't be such a big difference in datatypes
