Hi Can anyone explain limitations of using DPS with Mono?
@Yukio159753 the limitation is that right now no one (including me) is actively maintaining it. You might meet many exceptions (you can check the existing issues at GitHub for this repo for typical ones). Unless Microsoft/Xamarin/Mono stands up to address the incompatibilities between Mono's WinForms and .NET's, I personally don't think DPS will work well on Mono any more.
^ Sad :(
@lextm is there any reason not to release 2.10 as-is? I realize you aren't really maintaining it anymore, but a 2.10 would be greatly appreciated over here :)
@damageboy too much has happened so I was dragged to other projects or things. Will move 2.10 from Beta to RTW once I do have enough time.
Just curious since there are lots of UX experts here -- are there any real cross platform options for C# GUIs?
I've had a hard time even just creating a simple cross platform system for embedding a web browser into a form - I can only imagine how hard it is to make DockPanelSuite cross platform
@jaredbroad the merge of Microsoft/Xamarin should shed some light pretty soon. Miguel de Icaza has been the visionary in this area
DockPanelSuite, however, was designed and developed for Windows/.NET Framework for long, and almost impossible to bring it to other platforms.
Thanks @lextm; look forward to seeing what the merger brings us. There must be a better way for cross platform UX! :)
