    I agree though that changing two things at once is not very representative in the outcome. but random block rewards is just for the "block gambling" problem
    Alan McIntyre
    @alanmcintyre
    yeah I definitely think random rewards should go away first
    Max K.
    @langerhans
    The multipool jumping problem is well known. I remember the Fedora community asking for help cause a Multipool jumped off them in mid diff cycle, leaving them with 5 times or so higher blocktimes.
    Alan McIntyre
    @alanmcintyre
    Yeah mooncoin was stuck with multi-day confirm times not too long ago because of that too
    although I think our base hash rate is high enough right now that we may not suffer as much from jumping
    Max K.
    @langerhans
    So I'd say tackling both problems in one fork is somewhat resonable. A fork is always risky. Better fuck up once than twice :D
    Alan McIntyre
    @alanmcintyre
    Just so the retargeting change is fairly simple and not some novel algorithm that nobody has tried before
    Max K.
    @langerhans
    Well, if we really go for 10 minute retarget... I don't know a coin (in our scale) who tried that before
    Alan McIntyre
    @alanmcintyre
    is that the current idea?
    Max K.
    @langerhans
    That's what's in testing currently
    Results seem to be promising
    Alan McIntyre
    @alanmcintyre
    Well at least the current PR is just changing the interval and not the algorithm, which seems fairly safe I suppose.
    Max K.
    @langerhans
    I don't know if they are still looking at other algos...

    @voidref
    I wonder if there's a way to block known multis
    Alan McIntyre
    @alanmcintyre
    you mean try to block them from participating in mining?
    Max K.
    @langerhans
    we're currently testing DigiShield
    Alan McIntyre
    @alanmcintyre
    what's that?
    Max K.
    @langerhans
    DigiByte's super new diff retarget algo which seems to be proven multipool proof
    Alan McIntyre
    @alanmcintyre
    ah cool
    Alan McIntyre
    @alanmcintyre
    ah good to see they like the results when multipools have hit them: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=408268.7660
    It's also very nice of the digibyte devs to help dogecoin
    Max K.
    @langerhans
    If we do this, we re should really give proper credit. Such collaboration is pretty rare in the crypto community...
    Alan McIntyre
    @alanmcintyre
    yes definitely

    Looking at the change dogecoin/dogecoin@d0640f9 and specifically HasAddress() in wallet.cpp being used instead of IsChange() - I'm not entirely convinced that's a good idea. Specifically it appears to lose a check about whether checking the address ownership is needed, which sounds good until you realise it locks the wallet to do that check, and the lock will inherently dominate the time taken
    voidref
    @voidref
    rnicoll, can you tell me if my change fix the Linux build?
    ok, this chat iz ded, nm
    Ross Nicoll
    @rnicoll
    voidref, it did, thanks
    Ross Nicoll
    @rnicoll
    voidref, could you try splitting the huge patch down a bit? If you use http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4307095/git-how-to-split-up-a-commit-buried-in-history to split out the PRIszu changes and C++11 changes from OS X-specific, it would make it a lot easier to follow what's going on
    voidref
    @voidref
    yeah, I'll see if I can find the time for that
    voidref
    @voidref
    that article says not to do it if the commit has already been pushed, which it has in this case.

    How would I make dogecoind's RPC API multi-tenant? Right now it seems like a lot of it is based around a single wallet / everybody has access to all the wallets

    Hello, I have a suite of regtests that use regtest mode. I have a list of addresses generated from v1.10.0 that I import into a node via importaddress prior to running the tests. However, since the v1.14.0 update I am no longer able to import these older addresses. See dogecoin/dogecoin#1609 for more information. Was there a change to the network magic?

    Good Day i have a problem with the rpc method in dogecoind

    I just executed this command to get the details of this hash setting the verbose to 2 so that i could see also transaction details

    curl --data-binary '{"jsonrpc":"1.0","id":"curltext","method":"getblock","params":["044cd3f3827293e6ab2ae52801f61adb2d26d0ad967d132f48df93a00337198f", 2]}' -H 'content-type:text/plain;' http://username:password@127.0.0.1:22555

    and then error appears

    {"result":null,"error":{"code":-1,"message":"JSON value is not a boolean as expected"},"id":"curltext"}

    Hello, I just used the DogeWallt 3.1.2 Android mobile wallet, but I can’t export the private key directly, I can only export a backup file, it can’t be migrated to other wallets. I have no way to get the private key from the backup file. At the same time the synchronization of the mobile version is very slow. How should I do. There is no way to transfer money or get the private key.

    Has anyone considered using Solid Pods to store a wallet? It’s decentralized and may be worth looking into. https://solidproject.org
