KedBein
@KedBein
Hi everybody
I want to know about difference betwen ASP.NET and ASP.NET Core
Found only this:
  • All js,html,css content should build in wwwroot
  • View Components instead of Partial View
  • DI
  • default XSRF protection
  • HttpClientFactory
  • Lack of SynchronizationContext
    Can anyone tell me other differences?

@jongleur1983
@muathdasan I know too less about it, so no idea.

@karelz
@KedBein I'd ask on aspnet repos - or search for migration guide ...

Is it possible to install Visual Studio 2019 Version 16.1 preview side by side with 2019 16.0.x without messing up my main 2019 install just to test out Blazor?

@giangm9

Hi Everyone
Can anyone using jenkins for ci/cd for .net
I am able to build the solution from visual studio2015 and from msbuild and trying to build the solution from jenkins getting class file reference error
Hugh Gleaves
@Korporal
Off topic perhaps, but is anyone here using Microsoft's VFS for Git?
Hugh Gleaves
@Korporal
What ever became of Microsoft's research into "Abstract State Machines" it seemed to be active and discussed a lot in the early 2000's but it seems to have been abandoned.
masonwheeler
@masonwheeler
yes
There's only one csproj in the solution?
and both of the files in question are in it?
then something very strange is going on with your project. I'd need to see the code to get any further. Is the source available?
masonwheeler
@masonwheeler
strange. That looks like it should work
It's probably Razor being weird. Try this
Right-click on the project and say Clean. Then go into the project's folder and delete the obj folder.
then rebuild
why are you trying to build something inside Program Files?!?
masonwheeler
@masonwheeler
yeah, sounds like something very weird is going on
I'm not too familiar with VS:C on Windows; I usually just use normal Visual Studio
not sure then
weird
masonwheeler
@masonwheeler
yeah!

Hi, I am facing one issue while getting my .net code from TFS using Jenkins. The error is like Fatal: com.microsoft.tfs.core.clients.versioncontrol.exceptions.versioncontrolexception
It's realted to the cache
It's telling version control.config is not valid and can not be loaded. Could you please assist me in solving this?
Thanks in advance

Hello, is there someone around here?
I have problems with WCF :(
Karel Zikmund
@karelz
WCF on Core - the client?
Óscar Zafra
@oskyar
Yes
@karelz , I am making a request from a connected service (a WSDL) and there is a parameter that is base64binary type and that parameter does not send the type in the request, so the server where it receives that request returns it to me with error. However, if I make the request with SOAP UI, everything works correctly and the difference is that.
Karel Zikmund
@karelz
@oskyar Which framework - .NET Core or .NET Framework?
Óscar Zafra
@oskyar
Net Core 2.2
Karel Zikmund
@karelz
In that case file it on dotnet/wcf
do NOT expect support-level response
if you need support level, go through official (paid) support channel
Hope it helps
Óscar Zafra
@oskyar
No... I just need to solve a problem that I think is a Net Core BUG.
Karel Zikmund
@karelz
ok, if you don't expect fast turnaround, then dotnet/wcf is the right place to file it and let the team triage it and assess priority
Óscar Zafra
@oskyar
Yes... in that case I need a quick answer, I've been blocked for days.
Thank you for your comments
Karel Zikmund
@karelz
in that case, please use support channel. GitHub, gitter, neither Stack Overflow are not the right channels
