No... I just need to solve a problem that I think is a Net Core BUG.
Karel Zikmund
@karelz
ok, if you don't expect fast turnaround, then dotnet/wcf is the right place to file it and let the team triage it and assess priority
Óscar Zafra
@oskyar
Yes... in that case I need a quick answer, I've been blocked for days.
Thank you for your comments

@karelz
in that case, please use support channel. GitHub, gitter, neither Stack Overflow are not the right channels

I am following this blog to implement soft delete in EF core which overrides context.SaveChanges() to update the IsDeleted value to true to remove a row.

However, I get an error for property does not exist if I try to create users with Identity.

Is there a way for me to use soft delete for my own entities but not for Identity?

I'm a bit unsure how to understand CVE-2019-1075.
My interpretation is that an attacker could craft an URL which points to https://my-asp.server/some/tricky/url/from/bad/guy, and when the victim clicks on that link (assuming it's for my-asp.sever), my server (running ASP.NET Core) redirects the http request to some bad guys site via http redirect?
So the core problem seems that the ASP.NET infrastructure can be tricked into generating redirects, instead of regular processing of the request, right?
aspnet/Announcements#373 seems to indicate that HttpSys and IIS are affected, which might indicate that Kestrel (running behind a reverse proxy like NginX or AWS ALB) is not affected - is there any way to find more details?

@karelz
@markusschaber did you consider asking on the "discussion" issue?
Markus Schaber
@markusschaber
@karelz I found that issue later, after I asked here, and asked there. :-)

Hi, I am looking for some advice on how to host the "listener/subscriber" part of a microservice. I have basic tutorials working using console apps sending and receiving messages via service bus topics and subscriptions. But I don't yet understand how this "listener" should be built in a real microservice.
Is this listener supposed to be registered inside of a WebAPI app? Or is it a console app in the cloud? I'm just lost on the actual implimentation of this

Hi all, any info on when Preview 7 might drop this week?

RC is scheduled to be released in this month
dcuccia
@dcuccia
@aaabbbcccddd00001111 thanks, didn't realize that. Preview 7 has a "go live" license and a few neat features/fixes, which is why I'm asking.
Karel Zikmund
@karelz
@dcuccia here's official info: https://github.com/dotnet/core/blob/master/roadmap.md ... any day now if you look at release/3.9 branch activity ;)

hello, i have a problem with entity framework core, where do i ask?
Karel Zikmund
@karelz
aspnet/efcore - check what channels for feedback / questions they have. Stack Overflow is often useful too :)

@dcuccia
Preview 7 still pending. Wonder if there were some last-minute hiccups.

Is https://github.com/dotnet/platform-compat still being maintained? has it been killed off? I only see a bot's commits in the last few months. The nuget package hasn't been updated in a year.
Karel Zikmund
@karelz
I still plan to push for shipping it in future. It still does it's thing right. Just needs to be properly productized and included in resist.

Does anyone know good tools to model and generate state machines?
Something like UML StateChart editor, which then generates C# classes?
(Or does anyone know a better place to ask this question? :-) )

Hi guys, Is there any roadmap for http/2 implementation (client/server) on .net standard and .net core? I suppose there’s one for .net core 3.0, but couldn’t find anything for .net standard
hiradyazdan
@hiradyazdan
@karelz ^
Karel Zikmund
@karelz
@hiradyazdan why do you need .NET Standard? Why is .NET Core 3.0 not enough?
hiradyazdan
@hiradyazdan
@karelz well, I need a client implementation for Unity, I have found some non-official implementations, but was wondering if there’s any roadmap for .net standard in the future anyway
Karel Zikmund
@karelz
From that perspective it is unlikely, HTTP/2 relies heavily on our SocketsHttpHandler which won't work well on iOS and Android - they need native handlers there
so no plans today
Unity can choose to take SocketsHttpHandler from CoreFX I assume, but it is up to them / up to what they use
hiradyazdan
@hiradyazdan
I see, thx, I try to track it down why SocketsHttpHandler not working well on mobile for Unity, afaik unity compiles to cpp for mobile anyway

anybody familliar with dotnet pack ?
trying to pack dll given by a vendor ... so we got managed and native dlls
I tried to create a nice csproj so that running dotnet pack would properly pack everything
i'm not sure what the folder structure but i attempted to get it like :
image.png
the csproj look like
<Project Sdk="Microsoft.NET.Sdk">

  <PropertyGroup>
    <TargetFramework>netstandard2.0</TargetFramework>
  </PropertyGroup>

  <ItemGroup>
    <None Include="lib\netstandard2.0\ThirdPartDotNet.dll">
      <PackagePath>lib\netstandard2.0\ThirdPartDotNet.dll</PackagePath>
    </None>

    <None Include="runtime\win-x86\native\THIRDPARTNATIVE.dll">
      <PackagePath>runtime\win-x86\native\THIRDPARTNATIVE.dll</PackagePath>
    </None>
    <None Include="runtime\win-x86\lib\netstandard2.0\ThirdPartDotNet.dll">
      <PackagePath>runtime\win-x86\lib\netstandard2.0\ThirdPartDotNet.dll</PackagePath>
    </None>

    <None Include="runtime\win-x64\native\THIRDPARTNATIVE.dll">
      <PackagePath>runtime\win-x64\native\THIRDPARTNATIVE.dll</PackagePath>
    </None>
    <None Include="runtime\win-x64\lib\netstandard2.0\ThirdPartDotNet.dll">
      <PackagePath>runtime\win-x64\lib\netstandard2.0\ThirdPartDotNet.dll</PackagePath>
    </None>
  </ItemGroup>

</Project>
but the result is kinda disturbing
image.png
if anybody got an idea why it completly ignore the items from the runtime folder
