Ffs my submodule are in a bad state
I try to cherry pick and it says there are conflicts but doesn't say what they are
And all I know is it has something to do with submodule

Why do I have a libunwind submodule in build_deps and one in my root directory?
They aren't even at the same commit

Pyston/build_deps/libunwind/config/missing: no such file or directory
It's true, that file doesn't exist
Is it supposed to?

yeah this stuff is all super annoying
it says to do git add path to resolve the conflict but if you try that it will say you can't do that on submodules
you have to git reset them

I can’t build pyston anymore even on master

for the config/missing thing, I don't know why that happens

Aug 16 2015 05:45
i’m attempting to reclone everything and see what happens

I usually have to do a rm -rfv build/Debug/build_deps
if that doesn't work
you can try a git deinit -f .; git submodule update --init --recursive

Aug 16 2015 05:46
ohhh
they’re recursive?

make check is passing, something must be wrong
there’s no way the code i wrote is correct
… do you ever have that feeling?

yeah but then I most often notice that I checked out the wrong branch and that's why its working :-D

No such file or directory: '/home/tjhance/pyston/test/testsuite/integration/../lib/virtualenv/virtualenv.py’
any ideas?
(when running make dbg_virtualenv_test)
I… just need to init my submodules, don’t I? -_-
the struggle continues

try git submodule update --init --recursive
I had a similar problem and it was because it had not checked out the testsuite recursive.

Aug 16 2015 19:15
yeah it took me forever to figure that out
I was trying
git submodule init —recursive
which didn’t work
Marius Wachtler
@undingen
Aug 16 2015 19:16
yeah I had the same problem. I would not have thought to put the init as a argument to update
put then I looked into the travis ci configuration :-D
