I tried to track it down but couldn't yet find whats the issue (can only produce it on travis ci) I tried to compile the plugin with -O0 in order to get more accurate debug info but then the crash is gone...

have to rely on printf debugging? :(
debugging CI-only issues is pretty awful
I still haven't found that threading one

@undingen another random idea for reducing llvm time: what do you think it would take to bring the bjit code closer to the llvm code?
I forget what you mentioned the remaining differences are
maybe we could get some simple type analysis in there
