    they are working on a project to connect learners with mentors, and are gathering insights and friends. I think they’d get a lot out of meeting team dwyl… they are here till thursdy, may I put them in touch with y’all?

    I kind of have a random question, my work neefds accounting software (intuit) hosted on a widnows server we can remote into
    what's a good option for that? I see Azure but it seems needlessly expensive

    Hey! :)

    I have some "bench" time and I would gladly contribute to open source projects (preferably, with Hapi.js). Do you have any recommendations or maybe high-priority tasks? :) Thanks

    Nelson
    @nelsonic
    Hi @Y-LyN-10! "bench" time is the perfect opportunity to explore new skills! :wink:
    Hapi.js is cool and if you want to help out we have a few Open Source projects which use Hapi which could really use an upgrade/update. e.g: https://github.com/dwyl/hapi-socketio-redis-chat-example ... however, if you're open to considering a new paradigm, I would highly recommend you consider learning Elixir & Phoenix e.g: https://github.com/dwyl/phoenix-chat-example hope you have a great weekend!

    @Y-LyN-10
    Thank you, @nelsonic ! Will definitely check these out!

    Hello Everyone. I just joined this gitter room.

    I was checking for TDD tutorial on web and find https://github.com/dwyl/learn-tdd . With this repo I comes to know about dwyl.

    I really like this initiative for free education. I found the tutorial very useful and I want to thank you all who contributed in thin great work.

    I was checking the book - https://github.com/dwyl/the-book and found it still not complete. I see the last commit on this repo is 6months, 1 year, 2 years and 3 years. I get confused that are you guys stopped working on this book or something went wrong ?

    Please let me know. I really wanna see this book complete and was to learn as well as contribute on this initiative.

    Cleop
    @Cleop
    Hey @kikit, that's great that you enjoyed the learn tdd tutorial :heart: :tada: ! We have many tutorials and repos made by dwyl which are constantly being added to to make them better and to keep them up to date :clock1: :calendar: . The book is like a contents page or directory to guide you through a lot of our tutorials in a helpful order for someone starting out. The repo itself may not be updated that often but that doesn't mean the repos it links too haven't been updated! However as you correctly noticed there are still new tutorials that we would like to build and that's where people like you in our community come in :muscle: ! A lot of our content is improved and added to by people in our community. So whether you have any knowledge on one of the repos that you could add to or you're a beginner and actually you didn't understand something and think a tutorial could be improved, create an issue and get involved! Or comment on an existing issue in a repo to help out too.

    @kikit

    Thanks @Cleop for clarifying. I recently started the web development and struggled a lot to find the right resources to learn efficiently. When I find this community and all dywl tutorials, I feel like I found the treasure.

    I'm a big fan of "Head First" book serious. I love there teaching style. And I find the almost same strategy in TDD tutorial . I started to explore dwyl.

    When I visit "the book" repo. I started to read immediately and Once I reached to end of page, it saying the book still is not completed then I check the history of repo and I see last commit was very long time. So I was curious( little bit scared) that what happened to this incredible community. I really wanted to read and work on all the tutorial straight at that time.

    I really want to see this book complete. You all did incredible job till now and it should be continue. I'm beginner but will definitely contribute to this when I will have some experience

    Thank You @Cleop . Thank you community.

    @kikit

    hey @Cleop . Are you going to add more details in this tutorials sooner ?

    https://github.com/dwyl/learn-sass/

    Cleop
    @Cleop
    It's something I've to put on the back-burner for now I'm afraid as I'm not working on a sass project at the moment. So I couldn't say when I'm afraid. But please feel free to add to it if you'd like to contribute!
    Vijay Shankar Gupta
    @kikit
    Okay no problem. I don't know much about SASS. I want to learn. When I have enough materials about SASS then I will definitely contribute.

    On a purely philosophical/hypothetical: is it better to feed 50 people now (but only for a few weeks) or to invest the same resources to teach 5 million people to feed themselves for ever?
    Rich Keyzor
    @Web-Dev-Rich
    Ah the old give a fish or teach to fish question? The latter of course 😀
