@pintify
Ok
This quite compromises the maintainability but if there is no better solution, let's try it
Claudio Mezzasalma
@lorthirk
well... I'm 99% that all of them has at least a feature depending on that setting
again, I know it's not optimal and we started working on it
by the way, may I ask why use Docker Compose?
is it a production environment?
Pedro
@pintify
Yes, it is a production environment
Claudio Mezzasalma
@lorthirk
have you ever considered OpenShift?
Pedro
@pintify
Maybe, I'm not responsible for the systems and environment, Docker is more a requisite for me
Pedro
@pintify
Hi, I'm not sure if it is an issue or not: when putting a configuration through Batch Jobs, I am unable to remove assets or created services in general, how can that be done?
If I am applying partial configuration I can see why it is OK, but when applying a complete configuration I would like to remove all that is not defined explicitly
Claudio Mezzasalma
@lorthirk
I'm afraid that this how Kura works
it always merges the configuration that you send to the one in place
Pedro
@pintify
Oh, Ok, I thought it was Kapua issue, thanks
Pedro
@pintify
Hi, I'm working with the API but I'm not sure what is the use of the assetsFilter in the {{scopeid}}/devices/{{device}}/assets/_write request
I try with:
{
    "assets": [
        {
            "name": "{{asset}}",
            "channels": [
                {
                    "mode": "READ_WRITE",
                    "type": "boolean",
                    "value": "true",
                    "name": "DigitalOutput1"
                }
            ]
        }
    ]
}
But there is no filter when I use this configuration (excluding value field) to read: all assets and channels are returned. And there is no writing at all as the service answers error
Claudio Mezzasalma
@lorthirk
so, you're performing a write with this body
correct?
Pedro
@pintify
No, at all, but /_read works
(unfiltered, but works)
Claudio Mezzasalma
@lorthirk
so you want to undersand how read filter works?
Pedro
@pintify
Actually both
I'd like to read and write only one channel or at least one asset if possible
Claudio Mezzasalma
@lorthirk
yeah, sure
so
the read filter should be
{
  "deviceAsset": [
    {
      "name": "asset2"
    }
  ]
}
while writing one or more assets (one, with two channels, in this example):
{
  "type": "deviceAssets",
  "deviceAsset": [
    {
      "name": "asset2",
      "channels": [
        {
          "valueType": "integer",
          "value": 5,
          "name": "Channel-1"
        },
        {
          "valueType": "integer",
          "value": 8,
          "name": "Channel-3"
        }
      ]
    }
  ]
}
Pedro
@pintify
Let me try...
Claudio Mezzasalma
@lorthirk
sorry, without timestamps
I edited the snippet
Pedro
@pintify
Yeah! It works perfectly!
Thank you very much
Claudio Mezzasalma
@lorthirk
great to hear!
some of the Swagger examples contain errors. I'm rewriting them from scratch (instead of leveraging automatic generation) as we speak.
Pedro
@pintify
Yeah, that may be the origin of the trouble
Claudio Mezzasalma
@lorthirk
by the way, if you have any input on this topic, this would be a great time to provide some feedback!
Pedro
@pintify
I'll answer this guy https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/t/1100654/ as he got probably misguided like me hehe
If something comes to my mind or use case I'll let you know ;)
Claudio Mezzasalma
@lorthirk
great!
and thank you for contributing on the forum as well :) feel free to point this chat in the reply
Pedro
@pintify
How can I link a specific line on the chat?
Or I should I point to the chat anyway?
Claudio Mezzasalma
@lorthirk
you can copy the link from the message timestamp
it will point to the message directly
