Peter Hilton
@hilton
(naming being a favourite topic of mine, at which I cheat by being a native English speaker)
I don’t know of anything that would have caused performance issues at 17:00 yesterday; perhaps one of the others has an idea.
Stefano
@esseti
not naming. exporting/editing processes was not working much
Peter Hilton
@hilton
sorry, I meant performance
Stefano
@esseti
;)
Peter Hilton
@hilton
I must have a one-track mind
Christian Wiggert
@SilentGert
we definitely had a load spike on the server around 17 h
Stefano
@esseti
i see, one thing. do you have a docker of effektif or a way to easility deploy it somewhere? probably it's against your biz model, but it's open source. so ideally i can download and deploy it, right?
Tom Baeyens
@tombaeyens
yes you can do that. though bare in mind that the open source is just the engine. the product is much more then only the engine
Stefano
@esseti
so there's no modeler? i was thinking for next exam (probaly year) to tell the student to run the tool on their machine so there will be no problem with connection etc. but there's time for that
Tom Baeyens
@tombaeyens
easiest to fix is their connection :) the modeler is part of our product, not of the open source
Peter Hilton
@hilton
hmm, we should really find a way to show BPMN validation errors in the UI

Same error as last time:

Attribute 'targetRef' must appear on element 'sequenceFlow'

Stefano
@esseti
@tombaeyens ok.
@hilton it's actually a process exported from the tool
Peter Hilton
@hilton
Yes, so there must be an export bug.
Stefano
@esseti
well, the student was not able to update the process. so maybe something got stuck while modeling and then saved in a strange way
Peter Hilton
@hilton
Any chance of getting a screenshot of its process diagram before export?
Stefano
@esseti
i asked for that but in this case he wasn't able to make it
Peter Hilton
@hilton
Right: there must be something unexpected about the process model, but it’s hard to guess what that might be, in order to reproduce the issue.
Isaias Barroso
@isaias
Hi all, I didn't see mentions for Multi Tenancy support out-of-box in Effekitf or maybe I'm missing some point. There are information about that? I'm thinking about to use Effektif so I need to measure the efforts to put Effektif as the Process Engine for my Multi Tenancy product. Thanks
Christian Wiggert
@SilentGert
Well, we are using the engine in a multi tenant system, simply by adding tenant information to the workflows
you can store it as additional data in the workflow information
Isaias Barroso
@isaias
@SilentGert nice, I'll start a POC using that path. Thanks
Philipp Giese
@frontendphil
Or maybe just checkout http://workflow.signavio.com ;)
Isaias Barroso
@isaias
@frontendphil I'll verify the commercial model for including it on my product. Thanks
Mikrobe
@mikrobe
d-i-s-c-o-n-t-i-n-u-e-d?
Tom Baeyens
@tombaeyens
Turns out it made our architecture more complicated and didn't give the benefits we were hoping for.
So we won't be developing it further from here. But it remains accessible.
Mikrobe
@mikrobe
Well, it is unsurprising knowing Signavio was financing the project, isn't it?
But still it's unfair
Tom Baeyens
@tombaeyens
Not really. The decision to go for open source was taken together with them.
Mikrobe
@mikrobe
So why stopping opensourcing?
I believe you'll keep developing internally
Tom Baeyens
@tombaeyens
I don't see the unfair part.
The first thing we are doing is simplifications because we can merge our product code with the engine code
Mikrobe
@mikrobe
Think about people started developing software relying on effektif
Philipp Giese
@frontendphil
Also their is and will be projects we open source, it's just not the core engine
Mikrobe
@mikrobe
integrating it and waiting for a RC
I'm not talking about myself because I went for Activiti but I always kept an eye on Effektif because I liked the approach and I hoped to become the next big thing
Tom Baeyens
@tombaeyens
I always think that whatever you can do in open source is a win for the community. We tried and it didn't work out as we planned.
I understand that people can be in a tough situation if they counted on a GA version. But on the other hand, we were using it in production already a long time. So beta and GA is just naming i guess.
Mikrobe
@mikrobe
Yes Tom, I agree you always can change your mind. But the move is a little smelly since it happened just after Signavio published as Signavio Workflow
But anyway no problem. It is just my opinion. And, as I said, I went for Activiti so no impact for me.
cuiyongxu
@cuiyongxu
hello
everyb
everybody
Who can answer my question?
Tom Baeyens
@tombaeyens
probably no one cause the open source project is discontinued
cuiyongxu
@cuiyongxu
Does effektif do not pool?
