I'm investigating effektive with an accademic purposes. The version deployed on the website (effektif) seems a bit older than the one in github, am I right?
BTW: super user friendly editor, first time i see something this handy in this topic

Actually no, the SaaS is based on more or less the latest version of the open-source core engine

i was wondering if and when there will be the possibility to:
  • call a webservice (it should be in the roadmap)
  • have some way to send input to the process (there's only the start trigger if not mistaken)

You can already call a web service from a script task, using JavaScript.
A custom activity could add a nicer UI for that, of course, but we didn't do that yet.

so you mean via js?
i can code cross-domain calls?

For input to the process, we're currently working on enabling triggers from Zapier.
The JS script task runs on the server using Node.js, so you can call any domain.

last question (for time being). if i want a timer interrupting event (e.g. wait 5 min) should i implement it with JS? if so how?
Peter Hilton

For now, yes, but we're currently working on a timer event.
I don't know how to do that with JS, although I’m sure StackOverflow knows :)

Waiting in java script is not good

that's my feeling
is there a roadmap accessible? beacuse i'll probably use this tool to teach a course, and i've to check if it will be implemented before the course or when.

We even protect against it
Not sure if it is an option for your situation, but you could consider to switch that one to a user task
and do the timing manual till we have the timer launched
What timeframe would you use it?
Stefano
@esseti
Jan 21 2016 13:22
starting from march
i need a timer just to trigger some function if a task is not completed within a timeframe

My guess is that we ll have the timer event by that time, but @frontendphil can tell for sure
Did you check the reminder section in user tasks?
There you can already send reminder emails and perform escalation
if the task is not completed
Stefano
@esseti
Jan 21 2016 13:24
oh, cool, i saw the reminder, not the escalation
i'll check that

In march the timer should be there. I mean you ( @tombaeyens ) told me that the backend is basically ready and I’m sure, I’ll find some time till march to come up with a frontend.
(probably earlier though)
