@poulson can you create an email address jenkins@libelemental.org and have it forward to both of us?
also, can we point jenkins.libelemental.org at the linode?
This is from the install instructions for the github PR builder
"I recommend to create GitHub 'bot' user that will be used for communication with GitHub (however you can use your own account if you want).
The user needs to have push rights for your repository (must be collaborator (user repo) or must have Push & Pull rights (organization repo))."
i was thinking we create a Golub bot, unless you have a better name :P

Gene thought software was a waste of time
so definitely not Golub bot!
it would be like naming a theorem after someone who hated math
can look into creating new email address; the service I'm hosting libelemental.org from (1and1) is honestly awful

Oh yeah
I use webfaction
If you want I can stick the site on my acct and give you shell access
1and1 is terrible

it's fine, I just had to reset password
I have had serious issues with their handling of my mailing lists
but everything is in a steady-state now

I don't get it :(

@poulson
Dec 01 2016 03:28
but I'm all for just using the vanilla name that conveys its meaning
that way people who see the email know what it's for

@rhl-
Dec 01 2016 03:28
Well the account name and the email address need not agree

@poulson
Dec 01 2016 03:31

If your interested feel free to pick it up

I will add it into a .htaccess redirect in elemental-web

Dec 01 2016 03:48
libelemental.org/jenkins, libelemental.org/jenkins/, and libelemental.org/jenkins.html should all redirect there now
registering jenkins.libelemental.org seems to be more difficult with 1and1

Kk
I wasn't sure how to make an appveyor team
But I started that

Let's just knock out a bunch of this devops stuff
that will really add lift later
Do you know if we can build with the intel compiler ?
Jack Poulson
@poulson
Dec 01 2016 03:53
Supposedly it does with version 17.1 and later

@rhl-
Dec 01 2016 03:53
I figure that is what we should use Jenkins for
On PR builds
Also code coverage and static analysis for master builds
Jack Poulson
@poulson
Dec 01 2016 04:06
code coverage would need to include launching parallel jobs with various configurations and test numerical corner cases
a lower hanging target might just be getting the entire build matrix going
but that would probably require more than one dedicated machine
Ryan H. Lewis
@rhl-
Dec 01 2016 04:11
Well we can always improve the coverage

Thank you for submitting that, though you won't be making any friends with that bug report. Manners usually require a Minimum Reproducible Example.

Hopefully this is the right place to ask this. Is there a good example of how to efficiently write blocks into a DistMatrix<...BLOCK>? Can I do this via a matrix interface and avoid writing single elements at a time?
Ryan H. Lewis
@rhl-
Dec 01 2016 21:44
@poulson yeah I figure as much. I tried to do that but it compiles

@calewis see the QueueUpdate interface. I can answer in more detail later

Dec 01 2016 23:44
@calewis did you figure it out?
@poulson i asked in fedora-ppc and they encouraged me to file, they said that test cases are getting larger these days, and that its better to file and get a “I wont clone a repo” then for the bug to go un-reported at all
