    Hello community!
    I'm one of the developers of Elk. We'd love to hear your feedback or any questions you might have.

    Thanks for the kind words, @YazeeDBnMohmmeD_twitter! Do you have any projects in mind that you'd like to use Elk for? :)

    I'm thinking a prototype for a fully decentralized serverless scooter sharing system. Use Ethereum smart contracts to control access. Juicers can get paid ETH for charging the devices as well. Use Whisper for location sharing. It would obviously need some kind of GPS and Cellular integration. Would this module be able to interface with something like this https://www.adafruit.com/product/2542 ?

    This is an excellent project. I fricken' love it. Is there a list to get version 0.0.0.1? I'll sign up if there is.

    @phulst awesome project idea. regarding the GPS module, yes, it should work fine. :)

    @sultansatoshi you'll be able to order it but it ships by the end of the year. We do have a beta tester prgram though, you can sign up for it here: http://eepurl.com/gqDuxj

    What a great project. Bridging daily gestures and distributed ledgers. Possibly the key to a shock-wave mass adoption. My humble belief is that it might need a use-case that could impact local economics. Like a trigger-station that monitors energy, gas and water saving by house and blocks, eventually rewarding virtuous neighborhoods in a gaming-like, tribe-organised system with value, cashback deals etc. Looking forward to new updates! Ciao from Turin, Italy

    @Matlemad I agree with you 100%. What excites me about this space is being able to devise new economic incentive schemes that were not possible to implement in the past. Finding these types of use-cases is critical for adoption beyond enthusiasts.

    Hey guys, im a bit confused, whats the main difference in terms of hardware between an elk dev board and something like a esp dev board or the nodemcu?
    Eslam Ali
    @alieslam

    @givemecrypto4_twitter
    Elk board has two processors:
    1- Allwinner H3 micro-processor (1.2Ghz of speed) holds the decentralized nodes services syncing with the network and process user requests.
    2- STM32f411 micro-controller (100Mhz) which is programmed by the user using our simple Arduino like SDK interface connecting your hardware sensors, actuators and more, taking actions once the Allwinner processor sends back responses to the requests.

    While ESP dev boards are one of the powerful micro-controller boards in the market but it really takes time,effort and sure resources to run both decentralized services and user sketch. Running decent. nodes out of the box over a micro-processor is much more easier than re-inventing the wheel and building a light nodes over micro-controllers.

    @Isso
    @YuanChenmang That was an early prototype using Octavo OSD3358. The final version will utilize an Allwinner SoC.
