@connorkuehl Also live in an apartment, also will ask all neighbors to stop using wifi : P (this response was delayed by the internet dropping)
@lkatalin router to ISP related... or in your LAN?
@haraldh I'm unsure what's going on and trying to troubleshoot it with nmcli etc. It was never a wonderful connection but since COVID started it's been awful. And/or my router is very old. But I prefer to rule other things out before buying a new one.
In the past I've had success switching to a less "busy" channel (at a different apartment)
yeah, that plays a big role
if you are near to your router I would definitely switch to an ethernet cable
That's not a terrible idea either, although with workspace-musical-chairs that could be difficult haha
@lkatalin whenever my network starts fussing I always google "comcast outage <zip code>" and when i see the teeming masses complaining about my ISP it generally confirms my assumption that it's their fault lol
also, infuriating story: comcast has an "outage" map that you have to log in to view but it doesn't let me view it when i do
connorkuehl @connorkuehl shakes fist
yeah.. found a long ethernet cable.. 230Mbit down ... 43Mbit up ..
thanks @connorkuehl@lkatalin for the suggestions :)
@connorkuehl Comcast is bad and they should feel bad
If I could switch to any other ISP I would, but none are available
