Hey, is there a way to use pants with ensime-atom right now? I found some example of how to generate an ensime file using pants, which seems to work but whenever I try starting the ensime server in atom it says the .ensime file is not present.
I also tried moving it from .pants.d/ensime/ensime/EnsimeGen_ensime/project/.ensime to the root of the project but it didn't help. Is this not supported yet?

As long as you can generate a .ensime you should be fine. It should just need to be inside one of the atom windows root paths and it should be fine.
Could you point me to the example of generating .ensime from pants by the way? Just out of interest!

https://pantsbuild.github.io/with_emacs.html I know this says with emacs, but it seems to be a general way of creating the .ensime file so I thought it should work

@arnarthor can you ask the author of that plugin if they'd like to move their code / docs to the ENSIME organisation? I didn't know about this

Yeah I'll check it out. This doesn't seem to work properly for atom. A collegue of mine is using this for emacs if I'm not mistaken, but the ensime file doesn't seem to work for atom and looking at it doesn't look like it should actually

@arnarthor The .ensime file is a project definition for the backend ensime-server and it shouldn't really matter which client you use. If a .ensime works for Emacs it should work for Atom.
So if you have a .ensime that works with Emacs but not with Atom, this is the place to get help investigate further :)

@arnarthor
I created a ticket on the pants repo
Hopefully we'll bring their docs into the fold
It always confuses me why somebody would do something like this then not tell us, we're obviously going to be happy about it
