@dghart
Good. what did you see?
N.saicharan
@n_nsaicharan61_twitter
Debug folder, compiler flags,
FirstWorkspace.project
main
dghart
@dghart
main.cpp ?
N.saicharan
@n_nsaicharan61_twitter
yeah main.cpp
dghart
@dghart
OK. Now try to compile your project. You should see what happens in the Output pane, at the bottom of CodeLite
N.saicharan
@n_nsaicharan61_twitter
Yeah i could see the output pane at the bottom, of the codelite
dghart
@dghart
What is the output that you see? "Entering directory..."?
N.saicharan
@n_nsaicharan61_twitter
In the output pane i have :
Executing: cmd /C call F:\LearningCpp\FirstWorkspace\FirstWorkspace\Debug\FirstWorkspace.exe && pause
Program exited
Working directory is set to: F:\LearningCpp\FirstWorkspace\FirstWorkspace
Executing: cmd /C call F:\LearningCpp\FirstWorkspace\FirstWorkspace\Debug\FirstWorkspace.exe && pause
Program exited
THE ABOVE WAS THE COMMENTS
I could see on the output pane
and there are other panes as well, build, search , replace and references
dghart
@dghart
Indeed.
So now you have answered your original question!
You can't run anything because ' F:\LearningCpp\FirstWorkspace\FirstWorkspace\Debug\FirstWorkspace.exe' does not exist
Did you try the build the project?
N.saicharan
@n_nsaicharan61_twitter
yeah i built the project

inside the debug folder i have

main.cpp.o
main.cpp.d
.d
FirstWorkspace - this is application file

dghart
@dghart
Try to build it again. What is the output in the Output pane?
N.saicharan
@n_nsaicharan61_twitter
Working directory is set to: F:\LearningCpp\FirstWorkspace\FirstWorkspace
Executing: cmd /C call F:\LearningCpp\FirstWorkspace\FirstWorkspace\Debug\FirstWorkspace.exe && pause
Program exited
Working directory is set to: F:\LearningCpp\FirstWorkspace\FirstWorkspace
Executing: cmd /C call F:\LearningCpp\FirstWorkspace\FirstWorkspace\Debug\FirstWorkspace.exe && pause
THE ABOVE WAS THE OUTPUT IN THE OUTPUT PANE
dghart
@dghart
When you build
not when you try to run it
BUT:
N.saicharan
@n_nsaicharan61_twitter
ok i will build
Executing: cmd /C call F:\LearningCpp\FirstWorkspace\FirstWorkspace\Debug\FirstWorkspace.exe && pause
Program exited
Working directory is set to: F:\LearningCpp\FirstWorkspace\FirstWorkspace
Executing: cmd /C call F:\LearningCpp\FirstWorkspace\FirstWorkspace\Debug\FirstWorkspace.exe && pause
Program exited
this is the one when i try to build, not run
dghart
@dghart
That is Run, not Build
I just saw that you said: "inside the debug folder i have
FirstWorkspace - this is application file
N.saicharan
@n_nsaicharan61_twitter
yeah i have an application file inside the debug folder
dghart
@dghart
Is that really FirstWorkspace? or FirstWorkspace.exe?
N.saicharan
@n_nsaicharan61_twitter
that is FirstWorkspace.exe
dghart
@dghart
Good
Try running that in a console, not in CodeLite
N.saicharan
@n_nsaicharan61_twitter
how to run in a console?
i know how to run only on codelite by pressing ctrl+f5
dghart
@dghart
Install Linux and live happily ever after ;)
I've not used Windows for a long time
N.saicharan
@n_nsaicharan61_twitter
wait i will try
dghart
@dghart
But I'm sure there is still a way to open a console
N.saicharan
@n_nsaicharan61_twitter
not sure how to run in console
dghart
@dghart
I expect google knows
N.saicharan
@n_nsaicharan61_twitter
You mean to run in the command line?
dghart
@dghart
Yes
N.saicharan
@n_nsaicharan61_twitter
yeah in the debug directory i opend the command prompt and run the .exe file
it is printing output as hello world
dghart
@dghart
Good. Now you are getting somewhere!
N.saicharan
@n_nsaicharan61_twitter
but when i try to keep the break point in the program inside codelite It is not stopping at the debug point
