@Gibbon3

do you have any anti virus software installed?

Computer is a corporate one with who knows what installed. :(

Noel Grandin
@grandinj
current master has a compile error in cc_box_tip_window
this is with wx-3.0, possibly codelite requires a newer one now?
Noel Grandin
@grandinj
Also current master never stops indexing
It has been chewing up two cores for 12+ hours now
Eran Ifrah
@eranif
@grandinj is this on macOS?
(the never ending indexing)
Eran Ifrah
@eranif
@grandinj do you have a folder under /tmp/codelite.<something> ? what is the <something> for you?
Eran Ifrah
@eranif
@grandinj the indexing issue should be fixed now
@Gibbon3 the build against wx-3.0 should also be fixed now
Ghost
@ghost~60ec50fb6da037398480de78
is there any way to find time complexity using some plugins?
Gibbon3
@Gibbon3

Installed newest version, compiling a file I have a bunch of red arrows complaining about stuff

First one is 'stdint.h' file not found.

Code builds okay. Um... what is this though?

Eran Ifrah
@eranif
@Gibbon3 these are probably coming from the Language Server plugin. You can disable this errors, but usually these errors are an indication that your setup for code completion coming from this plugin is broken.
@Gibbon3 you can read more about this here: https://docs.codelite.org/plugins/lsp/
Noel Grandin
@grandinj
with current master, I cannot select more than one line in the build output panel
Eran Ifrah
@eranif
@grandinj actually you can, by holding Ctrl or Shift
Noel Grandin
@grandinj
ah, you used a table widget as the base code for it, I see now
could we please get a "select all" on that panel?
I sometimes need to copy out all the build errors when I have 20 levels deep of template code to debug
people have discovered template meta-programming in my project :-)
also ctrl-C would be nice
Eran Ifrah
@eranif
@grandinj yes, for the purpose of CodeLite, I wrote a custom based tree/table widget (the same one used for the git console output, the workspace tree view and many others). It seems more appropriate now and I get a more fine control over lines in that control (e.g. I can associate custom data per line). Anyways, I will add a Copy all to the context menu
Noel Grandin
@grandinj
thanks!

Question: Codelite when I remove a file from a project is deleting the file from disk with no option to keep it. How do I restore the behavior where it at least asks before doing that? (I have workspaces where projects share files between them. Deleting a file is almost never the behavior I want)
Eran Ifrah
@eranif
@Gibbon3 by default, CodeLite asked you that before and you checked the option Dont ask me this again, to restore the confirmation dialogs, click the button at settings -> preferences -> misc -> history -> reset annoying dialogs answers
Noel Grandin
@grandinj
with current master, I'm seeing: /home/noel/codelite/LiteEditor/quickfindbar.cpp:386:12: error: ‘class wxStyledTextCtrl’ has no member named ‘SetTargetRange’; did you mean ‘SetTargetEnd’?
386 | m_sci->SetTargetRange(target_range.start_pos, target_range.end_pos);
| ^~~~~~
| SetTargetEnd
Eran Ifrah
@eranif
another wx3.0 :/
and no I meant SetTargetRange :)
@grandinj try now
Noel Grandin
@grandinj
@eranif thanks, working now. Feel free to tell me you no longer support wx 3.0, and I'll just have to carry my own patches to make it work :-)
Ravish99
@Ravish99
Hi Team, I have installed the codelite IDE in my laptop and I have set the Mingw gcc complier as well. But not able to run the code and also options under "Build" Menu are greyed out. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in Advance.
Eran Ifrah
@eranif
@Ravish99 make sure you have a workspace opened.
@Ravish99 see here the quick start guide: https://docs.codelite.org/hello_world/

I have an issue with codelite on windows 10. For some reason windows barfed and took out my codelite installation.

I re-installed it under my administrator account. Work okay. But when run under my user account, when I search for compilers, it just up and dies. No error message, just closes.

On Win7 I used to know where codelite put it's user config files. But have no idea where it's trying to store that under Win 10.
Eran Ifrah
@eranif
the location is the same: %appdata%\codelite
gamanmanishrao
@gamanmanishrao
hello
I have an issue regarding my compiler it doesn't show my full result C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe /C ""C:program files/mingw-w64/mingw64/bin/mingw32-make.exe" -j8 SHELL=cmd.exe -e -f makefile""-----------Building project:[ if_statement - debug ] -------"
gamanmanishrao
@gamanmanishrao
the system cannot find the path specified. mingw32-make.exe: *[MAkefile:5: All] Error 1 ========0 errors,0 warnings====
I am getting this error while compiling don't know what to do
dghart
@dghart
@gamanmanishrao I don't use Windows, so I'm only reporting what I've seen elsewhere:
Windows often has a problem with paths containing a space e.g. 'C:program files'
Try moving mingw elsewhere.
(Also, I presume there really is a filepath with that combination of mingw64 and mingw32...)
Noel Grandin
@grandinj
with current master, replaceAll on a selection is locking up
Eran Ifrah
@eranif
@grandinj I changed it, can you provide an example of "locking up"? I assume that you mean that it "hangs"?
Eran Ifrah
@eranif
@grandinj I think I found it, will push a commit in the next 5 minutes :)
Gibbon3
@Gibbon3

@gamanmanishrao Look under build settings compilers. There is an entry for Make. The default seems to be to set it to

Make: mingw32-make.exe

On my system mingw32-make isn't in the path so I get the same error. I had to set it to

C:/MinGW/bin/mingw32-make.exe -j 6

As the guy above says, if you have spaces put the thing in double quotes.

Gibbon3
@Gibbon3
Also @eranif thanks for pointing out where the build settings are. Was as I thought build_settings.xml got hosed when my computer crashes a few days ago. That's maybe something to fix maybe.

Now I'm stuck where I can compile again. But the annoying dialogs setting won't reset for some reason.

Was the default for that changed? I kind of like it because I have a lot of shared filed between projects. So 99% of the time deleting the file off disk is not what I want.

Gibbon3
@Gibbon3
Okay now for some reason seems to be asking if I want to delete files from disk.
Eran Ifrah
@eranif
@Gibbon3 no, the location is still the same %appdata%\codelite all the user settings are kept under this location
