@Ravish99
Hi Team, I have installed the codelite IDE in my laptop and I have set the Mingw gcc complier as well. But not able to run the code and also options under "Build" Menu are greyed out. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

@eranif
@Ravish99 make sure you have a workspace opened.
@Ravish99 see here the quick start guide: https://docs.codelite.org/hello_world/

I have an issue with codelite on windows 10. For some reason windows barfed and took out my codelite installation.

I re-installed it under my administrator account. Work okay. But when run under my user account, when I search for compilers, it just up and dies. No error message, just closes.

On Win7 I used to know where codelite put it's user config files. But have no idea where it's trying to store that under Win 10.
Eran Ifrah
@eranif
the location is the same: %appdata%\codelite

@gamanmanishrao
hello
I have an issue regarding my compiler it doesn't show my full result C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe /C ""C:program files/mingw-w64/mingw64/bin/mingw32-make.exe" -j8 SHELL=cmd.exe -e -f makefile""-----------Building project:[ if_statement - debug ] -------"
gamanmanishrao
@gamanmanishrao
the system cannot find the path specified. mingw32-make.exe: *[MAkefile:5: All] Error 1 ========0 errors,0 warnings====
I am getting this error while compiling don't know what to do
dghart
@dghart
@gamanmanishrao I don't use Windows, so I'm only reporting what I've seen elsewhere:
Windows often has a problem with paths containing a space e.g. 'C:program files'
Try moving mingw elsewhere.
(Also, I presume there really is a filepath with that combination of mingw64 and mingw32...)

@grandinj
with current master, replaceAll on a selection is locking up
Eran Ifrah
@eranif
@grandinj I changed it, can you provide an example of "locking up"? I assume that you mean that it "hangs"?
Eran Ifrah
@eranif
@grandinj I think I found it, will push a commit in the next 5 minutes :)

@Gibbon3

@gamanmanishrao Look under build settings compilers. There is an entry for Make. The default seems to be to set it to

Make: mingw32-make.exe

On my system mingw32-make isn't in the path so I get the same error. I had to set it to

C:/MinGW/bin/mingw32-make.exe -j 6

As the guy above says, if you have spaces put the thing in double quotes.

@Gibbon3
Also @eranif thanks for pointing out where the build settings are. Was as I thought build_settings.xml got hosed when my computer crashes a few days ago. That's maybe something to fix maybe.

Now I'm stuck where I can compile again. But the annoying dialogs setting won't reset for some reason.

Was the default for that changed? I kind of like it because I have a lot of shared filed between projects. So 99% of the time deleting the file off disk is not what I want.

Gibbon3
@Gibbon3
Okay now for some reason seems to be asking if I want to delete files from disk.
Eran Ifrah
@eranif
@Gibbon3 no, the location is still the same %appdata%\codelite all the user settings are kept under this location
Noel Grandin
@grandinj
thanks @eranif

Greetings
I'm new with CodeLite. The third day I try to build it on my Windows 7 machine.
This is a hell.
Michael
@zzz7net
I've read all instructions but still no result. Can I get some help to build it?
or should I write to the forum?
don't want to clutter up the chat with my BuildLog
Michael
@zzz7net
If somebody are able to help, you are welcome >>
Eran Ifrah
@eranif
@zzz7net did you build wxWidgets as described? in particular follow the instructions for building wxWidgets: https://docs.codelite.org/build/build_wx_widgets/
Michael
@zzz7net
Eran, wxWidgets building stage was successful.
But there are many nuances about which I have no one to ask.
For example, I've read on the wxWidgets website that they use MinGW with a Win32 threads model.
Michael
@zzz7net
I have only MinGW with a POSIX threads model on my machine.
don't know if this can somehow affect the assembly
Also I've skipped building zlib, OpenSSL and libssh instruction steps
Michael
@zzz7net
because all of these is already part of mingw-w64-x86_64-toolchain
I'm using pacman -S mingw-w64-x86_64-toolchain command
but I'm not sure if this is a right solution.
Michael
@zzz7net
maybe this is a problem.
Eran Ifrah
@eranif
@zzz7net try to follow the build steps as written (even use the exact paths in the example, e.g. install msys2 under C:\msys64)
Michael
@zzz7net
All steps done. After 20 minutes of building CodeLite fails with error on PHPPlugin
mingw32-make[1]: * No rule to make target '../PCH/precompiled_header_release.h', needed by '../PCH/precompiled_header_release.h.gch'. Stop.
"----------Building project:[ PHPPlugin - Win_x64_Release ]----------"
Michael
@zzz7net
Finally everything worked out!
Eran Ifrah
@eranif
@zzz7net this was fixed in this commit: eranif/codelite@b5d1df0
Choretortle
@choretortle
Hello. I followed this link from codelite.org. Having an issue with the template for a C shared lib: Automated makefiles don't compile. "No rule to make target 'Debug/mysrcfile.c.o', needed by..." ... Elsewhere it was suggested that the ".c.o" portion is the issue. However, I didn't write this make... I'm pouring over the different settings fields, trying to figure out where/when/if my "projectname" variable is set to my one sourcefiles full name... or if a rule for making it even exists. I can switch to a custom make for such a small source file. Just seems pretty frustrating fresh out of template. I must be missing something.
