Hey! How's it going? Got any other cool projects?

Btw, I have been reading about the Nest API, and I noticed that they seem to make you register clients. So how did you get around that for this gem?
Eric Boehs
@ericboehs
Haha well this was waaay before the Nest API existed. I reverse engineered how they were doing the calls on their site. Luckily they were already using a private API internally.
We'll want to upgrade to use the supported method.

@stevenpetryk
I was hoping that was the case, because otherwise I was thinking "damn this API is annoying to integrate with"
so I guess
So I guess we'll make people supply their Client ID instead of their email and password!
Eric Boehs
@ericboehs
Yeah. That'd be much preferred. I haven't looked into their new api much

Hey man. Sorry I haven't made any contributions – I had a family emergency come up. My roommate and I are about to buy a Nest thermostat so we'll definitely be submitting some pull requests! We want to make a Rails app that gives us a global dashboard for our apartment.

That sounds awesome. I'm up for a pull request any day. :smile:
