@Links2004 Thanks for the help with the websockets, your recent update regarding the upgrade portion of the handshake helped immensely, and i seem to be at least communicating with my android device

@Makuna i tried the ETS_INTR_WITHINISR change, unfortunately lower four bits of PS remain zero (at least in GPIO interrupt)

Staging package updated, now bundled with persistent HTML documentation.

@igrr this concerns me, it means that the ISR could could be interrupted by a timer or even the level14 system interrupt that I have seen. With AVR before the call to the ISR automatically disabled interrupt, with esp8266, they do not. I think we might need to inject the nointerrupts in code wrappers, which would then set this.

hi, what is the best way to check from an esp8266 if another device (mac/ip address) is currently on the same network? (i want my "smart" esp lamp to dim when my smart TV is on)
Markus

have you smart tv a open port? the try to connect :) if you have an samsung you can use for example port 55000 tcp its for remote control

actually yes it's a samsung and i can do that. but say i want to check another device, is there a ping command or a way to see other MACs on the same network?

the SDK has ping functions

ok thankswill check these

if you happen to wrap these into some sort of a Ping library that would also be cool

for a library the expectation is that it supports avr and sam as well, wifi shields and ethernet shields, i guess

no you can writes library
only for esp8266 if you like

@Links2004 , I'm trying to get interrupt working on an eval board with capacitor. When I pinMode(4,INPUT_PULLDOWN) then measure the pin with a scope it shows up high. Is that correct or am I going mad?
Ivan Grokhotkov
@igrr
Jul 22 2015 22:02
actually there's no such thing as INPUT_PULLDOWN
Russ Mathis
@RussMathis
Jul 22 2015 22:02
?
Ivan Grokhotkov
@igrr
Jul 22 2015 22:02
it was a mistake, ESP doesn't have pulldowns on pins 0-15
Russ Mathis
@RussMathis
Jul 22 2015 22:02
how about pull up?
Ivan Grokhotkov
@igrr
Jul 22 2015 22:03
INPUT_PULLUP works fine.

@RussMathis
Jul 22 2015 22:03
Ok, so we have to use resistors if we need pull downs? :)

yep, i think so.

Hi! I just started working on a ping library, and since it has been requested, I'd like to share it with you. It's based on the SDK functions and I started it a couple hours ago, so there's a lot missing that I'll add in the next days. Let me know what you think!
