How do you tell how much memory is available on a board?
i mean for selecting the “flash size"

thank you. I’ve got some new esp-01s (they’re black instead of blue and say ai-cloud inside) they’re crashing like a mother fucker and it’s driving me nutso. Is that a possible reason?

I have one board out of about 20 that gives me this exception when I boot it with the flashconfig.ino… is this a faulty board or does this exception mean anything to anyone? i.e. should i submit the error? Exception (0):
epc1=0x40209413 epc2=0x00000000 epc3=0x00000000 excvaddr=0x00000000 depc=0x00000000

ctx: sys
sp: 3ffffc90 end: 3fffffb0 offset: 01a0

its a null ptr Access excvaddr=0x00000000 when the code is working on the other boards then it is a hardware problem.

no hard evidence, but I had a module that would not work, and others have reported premature flash wear/failure. I suspect some of the ultra-cheap esp modules may have QC rejected flash, etc.
