Is there anything special which needs to be done for SPIFFS uploads? I have a bunch of generic modules which won't take the entire spiffs image, the upload hangs at around 30%
works fine with nodemcu ...
maybe there's some hardware-specific thing which needs to be set?

if the flesh size is correct configured there is no difference between nodemcu and generic regarding SPIFFS.
to check the flash config

hi guys, has anyone noticed the following: if you do WiFi.disconnect(); then WiFi.mode(WIFI_AP); then WiFi.softAP(_apName); the access point no longer gets an ip, it s 0.0.0.0
and of course can t be connected to..
tzapu
@tzapu
Dec 23 2015 15:00
testing some more, it seems that if i have a delay right after disconnect(), the above happens, if no delay, it all works fine
how weird is that...
tzapu
@tzapu
Dec 23 2015 15:30
even more weird, any delay in setup() causes softAp to get ip 0.0.0.0

here s a minimum sketch that shows it happening
#include <ESP8266WiFi.h>

void setup() {
  // put your setup code here, to run once:
  Serial.begin(115200);
  WiFi.disconnect();
  delay(200); //this delay, if you comment out it all works, if left, softAPIP returns 0.0.0.0
  WiFi.mode(WIFI_STA);
  WiFi.begin("", "");
  int connRes = WiFi.waitForConnectResult();
  WiFi.mode(WIFI_AP);
  //assuming connecting failed
  WiFi.softAP("asdfghj");
  delay(500);
  Serial.println("");
  Serial.println(WiFi.softAPIP());
}

void loop() {
  // put your main code here, to run repeatedly:

}

onto the next issue, could anyone give me a hand loading a string from PROGMEM into a String object? this whole PROGMEM stuff is really doing my head in

@me-no-dev : Yesterday (23:13) you made a screenshot from your IDE.
Looks quite different to mine. Any reason for this?

@Links2004 very strange. No issues with win8x64
@Links2004 maybe libpthread is a part of my mingw...
@Links2004 do you have mingw? are you supposed to have mingw?
how do you package it with arduino?
Markus
@Links2004
Dec 23 2015 17:33
@kireevco yes i have mingw will try to copy it to the exe,
for the test I copy "xtensa-lx106-elf" to tools.
may you can pack the dlls with the zip, not know what the license is there.

it's the threading model (posix/win) that is different. thanks for the feedback, I'll see if I can rebuild it without that dependency
Markus
@Links2004
Dec 23 2015 17:48
or deliver the dll in the zip.
its better when the normal user not need to install mingw ;)
