@brutzler , did you try to add external PullUp on your GPIO16 ?

did anyone here try to connect a wii nunchuk to esp8266?
and it works for him/her?

i got this H-bridge (http://www.ebay.com/itm/310541225088), does anyone know what will happen if both A_0 and A_1 are set to HIGH or LOW together?

According to http://www.elecrow.com/download/datasheet-l9110.pdf, outputs will be low.

oh, thank you, i didn't know that's what implemented the bridge
also, i'm supplying it with 5V and output is 2.7V, do you know why, martin?
oh it shows it has some drop
hmm

According to the same specs, if Vsupply is 9V, Vout will be 7.6, so about 1.4V drops

that makes sense, thank you
i'm a bit confused by the table but i'll study it better

cool
how long does it take to compile an empty sketch for esp8266 on your comps?
i mean how it is when created
and not first compile

when calling ESP.deepSleep(), is there anything special that has to be considered? With AVR, you have to also disable watchdog before and re-enable right after it wakes.
Martin Ayotte
@martinayotte

@Makuna , not from my own experience. The only thing is that you should use some 470R between GPIO16 and RES, otherwise the real HIGH level of GPIO16 during sleep will prevent any external reset.
Although it can be a schottky diode too.

When it wakes from sleep, does it continue from the deepSleep call? Or does it act like a reset with a flag you can check?
Martin Ayotte
@martinayotte
Mar 21 2016 20:09
No, it act as reset and your code need to verify the reset cause with ESP.getResetInfoPtr()

Is memory and state still valid, or do you really need to consider it power on event?

RTC counter is clear, by RTC user mem are Ok. for the main RAM, I don't know.

Welcome ! ... But I've just discover something : for RTCMEM, is seem that it size is limited, because a quick test reveal that around 120bytes were still there after sleep out of 200 written before the sleep.
That needs to be investigated ...
My quick test was a string written into it, maybe there is supply a zero written at specific address, preventing to get the real end of string.

Just verified : yes, the whole string still there, but a 32bits zero is written in the middle.
