Martin Ayotte
@martinayotte
Mar 23 2016 19:41
what do you means by "individual control" ?
d-anders
@d-anders
Mar 23 2016 19:41
i mean where each led has a chip
mine is dumb
Martin Ayotte
@martinayotte
Mar 23 2016 19:42
RGB ?
d-anders
@d-anders
Mar 23 2016 19:42

Martin Ayotte
@martinayotte
Mar 23 2016 19:42
Ah !
What do you wish for shopping suggestions ?

d-anders
@d-anders
Mar 23 2016 19:43

Martin Ayotte
@martinayotte
Mar 23 2016 19:45
PCF8591, PCA9626, PCF8563 ?
d-anders
@d-anders
Mar 23 2016 19:45
now we are talking, almost bought the pcf8591 a few weeks ago!
but i got curious and decided to try to use the hx711 as genereal purpose adc instead (hasnt arrived yet though)
Martin Ayotte
@martinayotte
Mar 23 2016 19:48
Yep ! I've kept the PDF in my folder. But it depends of the application : speed or resolution.
d-anders
@d-anders
Mar 23 2016 19:49
yeah, i need no speed and decent resolution
i will use it with a lsm-11 lambda oxygen sensor
Martin Ayotte
@martinayotte
Mar 23 2016 19:49
Do you need some DAC ? MCP4725/MCP4726
Some OLED displays ?
d-anders
@d-anders
Mar 23 2016 19:51
hm, that reminds me, i should get one of the ili9341 displays
or maybe i should empty my pockets ang one of those nifty uarts
Martin Ayotte
@martinayotte
Mar 23 2016 19:52
Yes ! but also some small ones such SSD1306 on I2C ?
d-anders
@d-anders
Mar 23 2016 19:52
i will get a 2-3" serial one i think
only a couple of pins required
Martin Ayotte
@martinayotte
Mar 23 2016 19:53
There is also ST7735
Aditya Tannu
@AdySan
Mar 23 2016 19:54
ST7735 is pretty col, got one for $3
Martin Ayotte
@martinayotte
Mar 23 2016 19:55
I still prefer SSD1306 because only 2 pins I2C, but monochrome.
Aditya Tannu
@AdySan
Mar 23 2016 19:55
yeah, i wish they made higher resolution ones
for <$10
Martin Ayotte
@martinayotte
Mar 23 2016 19:55
Maybe someday ...
d-anders
@d-anders
Mar 23 2016 19:56
i want few pins + touch
size isnt so important
neither is resolution
Aditya Tannu
@AdySan

File Mar 23, 12 56 25 PM.jpeg
I have this animation running on my desk for 2 months now, every person walking by asks about this display
Aditya Tannu
@AdySan
Mar 23 2016 21:24
yep ILI9341 works great
but will use lot of pins
if oyu use touch, display and SD card
d-anders
@d-anders
Mar 23 2016 21:24
yeah, just realized that 4 pins will not give me touch
i want touch + lcd
i guess i should go for an expensive one with real onboard controller
Aditya Tannu
@AdySan
Mar 23 2016 21:25
try the nextion displays, its not really fully customizable\
d-anders
@d-anders
Mar 23 2016 21:25
yeah, like those
Aditya Tannu
@AdySan
Mar 23 2016 21:25
but you just need serial control pins
d-anders
@d-anders
Mar 23 2016 21:26
or i could go cheap and add an extra mcu just to control it + added fun

@d-anders autocompletion should work for Arduino Framework for Espressif.
@d-anders please open topic here http://community.platformio.org/. We will help.
