quick question, would you guys say that most of your projects connect to wifi/mqtt/need NTP for the clock? or is that a minority of projects?

IMHO NTP is a must have

@everslick I'm writing a boilerplate that you can add some settings to (like SSID/password/ntp server) and it exposes setup() and loop(), but by the time setup() runs you're already connected to wifi and mqtt and have gotten the NTP datetime, and loop makes sure to keep all these up, is that useful to anyone?

@skorokithakis i think there is large number of different usecases, each demanding a different degree of sophistication of the boilerplate. i just released a firmware SDK myself (https://github.com/everslick/genesys) which is more targeted to user configurable devices. other people just hardcode most settings into the sourcecode and be done with it. having a bigger choice is always good! :-)

So this Arduino.org board does seem to be nRF52 + ESP8266 based. The Arduino UNO Wifi is also ESP8266 based. Any reason this core will not work on non-arduino.cc IDE?
