Congrats on the 2.3.0 release, thanks for all the great work!

Thanks to all who contributed!
By the way, we've got some new bounties. Unfortunately something is wrong with Bountysource integration, so Github issues didn't get updated automatically. Still, here is the list: https://www.bountysource.com/teams/esp8266/bounties
Also there are some more bounty funds, so we can sponsor other issues as well.

Who thinks that is worth implementing HomeKit HAP on ESP8266?
The only example I found was to run HAP-NodeJS as a bridge that comunicate with the ESP using MQTT: ESP8266 based HomeKit accessories
However, someone else implemented HomeKit for Nordic BLE nRF51, a Bluetooth SOC: HomeKit for Bluetooth

Got to play with ESP-NOW a bit. Pretty nice, can stream data without having to bother about STA-AP connection.
Controlling servos connected to one ESP with a PS2 gamepad connected to another ESP.
Haven't measured ESP-NOW throughput yet, but should be good enough for telemetry and control)

@igrr , is it possible for one ESP to act as a bridge to the WiFi?

oh wow, VERY interested in that. first i've heard of it. looking at exposing this through Arduino?

What do you mean by "act as a bridge"? I.e. route IP packets between AP and STA? Or was that in the context of ESP-NOW?
There's not much exposing that apart from including ESP-NOW header file and calling functions from there
I'll see if I can wrap that with some functional sugar though
Ohh

i'll dig around and do some reading on it. is it documented with the standard SDK or elsewhere?

Yes, have one ESP connected to STA and also communicate with other ESPs using ESP-NOW.

That is certainly possible, ESP-NOW doesn't stop you from using normal AP and STA functionality. The only limitation is that you have to make sure all devices are on the same channel.
Documented in "SDK API Reference". Pretty scarce though, I almost had to go and ask the guys who wrote this code, but figured out everything myself in the end. I'll post my sketch tomorrow.
Oh, yeah, and platform.txt needs -lespnow in linker flags. Will push that as well.

thanks! ran across the header from the RTOS build. seems to be decently documented there in comparison to the the standard SDK header.

Are you programing in Arduino IDE? where can I find the functions of this espnow lib?
