onStationModeDHCPTimeout was broken in 2.3.0 release
it should work in git version
delay after WiFi.softAP should not be necessary

Does anyone know why I might have problems with upload speed through the IDE? I can upload with a speed of 115200 just fine, but I used to be able to upload with 921600.
I'm on a mac, running arduino ide 1.6.9

@zenmanenergy I would vote for variations in crystal frequencys on send and receive side.

@holgerlembke variations in crystal frequency? I don't follow. Are you saying it may be specific to one type of esp?

@zenmanenergy I use 921600 daily on my mac to upload to my nodemcu
not all uart chips can do that baudrate though

@zenmanenergy ch340g usb to serial has a 12 mhz crystal. 921600/12mhz = 7%, so the transfer frequency is 7% of the crystal frequency. 0,5% of and there she goes....

@me-no-dev it used to work for me at 921600 on this same mac a couple months ago. I am using a new batch of nodemcus, but they look identical to the last batch i was working with.
@holgerlembke i still don't follow what you are talking about. Is there some setting I should change with those numbers?

@zenmanenergy no, you cant do anything. assume that on the one side is a crystal with 12.1mhz and on the other side with 11.9mhz so they are both good for low baud rates and way off for higher baud rates.

oh, ok. Well why did it work before? At @me-no-dev says it works for him.

i dont know. and I only assume this is the reason. perhaps temperature related. perhaps just on the edge...

Also... it appears to be working, it goes through the motions in the output section. But the serial monitor doesn't display anything once it's uploaded with anything above 115200.

does the serial monitor has a 921600 setting in arduino ide?
Steve Nelson

no... i set that value in Serial.begin(115200) in the code. I'm talking about the upload speed in the IDE. If I upload the exact same code (it's just outputting hello world to the serial monitor) using an upload speed of 115200, it works. If I set the upload speed to 921600, it looks like it's uploading fine. But the code doesn't seem to run
i just tried some other code that just blinks and LED instead of using hte serial monitor. Same thing. 115200 works, but 921600 doesn't
i'm going to try and reinstall the drivers. maybe that will have an effect

@zenmanenergy while soldering one of my pcbs I made an error that had the same results. IDE said everything is fine, but esp never got any data.

if i have a little more time I'll try and dig through my pile of nodemcus and see if it boils down to specific ones. i tried reinstalling the signed ch340 drivers from sengotta.net, but i'm getting the same as before. It uploads, but only at the 115200 speed.

Hi All, it seem like when onStationModeDisconnected fired on every attempt to connect to the lost AP. Why is it so? From my understanding Connected/Disconnected events should come in pairs.
reconnect
f r-40, scandone
no My_WiFi_AP found, reconnect after 1s
Event: onStationModeDisconnected

reconnect
f 0, scandone
no My_WiFi_AP found, reconnect after 1s
Event: onStationModeDisconnected

...

what event should fire if a reconnect try fails?
