reading your comment i decided to test my own code with cpcheck. do you have a special config file (with the platform specifics) for the ESP8266 ?

no. I just used "check --> folder". but you might need to check the temp-folder the IDE creates to get valid C++ files.

i don't use the IDE, so no problem here. have introduced a make check in my Makefile...
