i'm very worried about this project. Github repo fills up with issues (most of them bogus, but anyway). @igrr was not seen in a very long time, and no commit in weeks.

I think a lot of the problems people are having may be power related.. I suspect mine have all been such.. yet to find a reliable power source :/ wish we knew exactly what was necessary
but yeah.. seems like the project has stalled for now

the SOFT AP is killing me. i can reliably trigger a hang, that will not cause a WD reset. :-(

I can't even get the WifiScan example to run reliably.. Once it ran and detected my network 3 or 4 times before crashing.. that's the best I ever got.
wait.. I'm talking about ESP32S here.. sorry

@everslick do not worry, the project will get back on track
it is a spare-time hobby project after all :)

Moin moin. I'm moving another Arduino Uno project to the esp2866. It has some i2c components (bmp180 etc) but one won't work. It uses the Attiny TinyWireS... lots of stuff on google about working or not, mine not working. trying around with setClockStretchLimit does not lead to a solution. any hints?

what is the I2C slave? BMP?
@battuashwik all based on free time and will (at least for me) :)

there is a bmp-, rtc-, lcd- and my attiny-slave. bmp+rtc+lcd work, my attiny fails.
I'm just runnung a setClockStretchLimit-scanner to see if there is any value that works,,,

Yes, this is a community project. As such having the community participate to fix issues is helpful for all. I do know that I have had at least one pull (minor improvement) included in the last few weeks, so this project is not abandoned. It has grown very large and I appreciate the testing that is run before a release is made.

I think easiest way will be drop the attiny-dht-i2c-sensor solution and use a geeric i2c sensor.

Hi. New here. I'm trying to use the git version of the ESP8266/Arduino core, as per the instructions at https://github.com/esp8266/Arduino#using-git-version. Anyone done this and able to offer a hand please?
I'm using Linux 64 bit. My issues are that I'm not sure where to clone the repo to, and that I don't have the "esp8266/tools/get.py" script. I guess perhaps I need to do something else other than install the Arduino IDE and the git clone, which isn't mentioned.
Thanks in advance.

@SpankyPantry_twitter AFAICR the instructions are complete. you sure you did not forget something, or had a typo somewhere?

Sorry - I've just sorted it, and it was my silly mistake. I cloned the repo elsewhere and symlinked it in, as suggested, and then used find to find get.py. find doesn't follow symlinks!!
